Will there ever be a chance.....

That when a player quits or gets disconnected the remaining players can vote to have an AI or not to have an AI?

Played a game earlier today... and although I dropped which sucked... we had a real big chance to win....

We played vs 3 reggies... me erebrus/erebrus and TB.

The reggies were easily dealt with when alone or taken on fair numbers like 2v2.... (after we got AI)... but grouped they could easily wreck us... But due to shitty AI... they farmed our AI pretty easily whenever he came to battle... I tried to balance it out with killing one of them each time... but I was moer focused on killing the 2 remaining fortress.... which me and TB were going to take out before I dropped....

In the end... we had a real good chance of winning the map.... but an AI partner didn't help at all... it hindered us even more then not having it around.... most games I play the AI never does one good thing.... just feeds the enemy....

Is there any chance we can rid ourselves of AI in pantheon and custom games? I dont think many will disagree that AI are useless....

I don't think so.  At high level games, most of the time an AI means a loss because the AI isn't all that good at coordinated attacks, flag locking logical targets, going for portals, etc.  But even if the AI wasn't there, you'd still be 3v2, and at a high level of play, that should mean you can't possibly win.

My solution, though it sounds unfair, would be to keep the lousy AI, but make their deaths worth 0 EXP and 0 gold.  Then, if they die, its not as bad for the team stuck with them (and I'd think that would end any argument you have about removing AI completey).

If Stardock implemented their suggested 50% award gold for an AI kill, this might not be as big of a problem.  It would also help if they created some sort of guide and contest to modifying the AI through the game files and developing the strongest AI.

Sorry to dig this up :D, meant to get back to it sooner.

50% would still be bad.... Imagine instead of milking the easy 1.6k gold you can just go get 800gold.... still easily worth it...

I think maybe 10% gold and 10% exp... that way their is still a reason to kill it... but the gains from doing it wont create such a gold advantage for the one team....

And yes at high level games.... but theres always a small chance and it depends when it happens.... Its like in any MPlayer game... go in with a handicap and you'll generally lose... if you get handicapped maybe 1/2 way in.... you have a chance if you've been leading up till then.... of course it makes it way harder....
