Wing Commander very much did, as did Freespace, but I'm trying to think of more recent games. Even still, it's true. I thought the orbital carriers in Quake 4 were pretty cool. Conquest: Frontier Wars was half and half. Cruisers were cool, but dreadnoughts were lackluster.

Galactic Civilizations II was awesome in the fact you could create your own.

I probably could have beat you but page loads are taking in the 3 to 5 minute range for me.

You know, I sat down three times to type up some stuff for the conference itself last week, and all three times, ended up with other posts.  Yeah, I have another post on deck and ready to go, just letting time pass and hoping certain people write up their factions showing up so I can justify doing a couple things...

Not to mention that a couple days going by with no one else playing out there parts is a bit on the weak side. We need everybody to shake a little bit.

I'll post, but I have to admit that there will be little going on. I can throw out permission to use the Lions for security if there's a reason they might get wind of you needing the forces, aside from a simple assumption. Otherwise, I was going to have them park it nearly Finley I in a phalanx formation facing the star while the little refits and adjustments take place.
