Is Stardock Collecting Corporate Welfare?

Is Stardock Collecting Corporate Welfare?

If So Did It Come From Obama's Stimulus Plan, or Bush's?

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/44502/State-Tax-Breaks-Allow-Stardock-to-Create-New-Jobs

Considering the condition the state of Michigan was in PRIOR to the recession, I find it very peculiar that "Michigan" would be granting anything to Stardock to help create 50 some jobs.

Brad Wardell gave credit to the state of Michigan for the tax credits that allow Stardock to "create" jobs, but did he credit the party who REALLY made the corporate welfare possible for Stardock? That would most likely be the Obama administration - NOT the state of Michigan.

So a company that spent so much time being greedy and blasting the left wing "liberals" - is now accepting corporate welfare?

Come on Brad. Say it ain't so. Say you will stand up for your principles and stop the government from "running Stardock!"

Is there some kind of requirement that anyone purchasing your products must submit a death agreement every 5 years if they are aged 65 or above? That's what the left wing does you know! Don't fall prey to government control.

Stardock is now little more than an agent of the Obama administration. Now I understand the lack of updates and the required reboots that never seem to do anything visible to the end user.

LAME.

Stand up for your right wing ideology Brad! You've been preaching it for years and blasting anyone who disagreed with you. Throw the bums out - you know, the people holding the 50 some jobs you are (supposedly) creating.

END OBAMA'S CONTROL OVER STARDOCK TODAY!!!!!!

You've been recognized now pal. Your company is being watched. Funny how the worm turns isn't it?

What a hypocrite.

Corporations are taxed enough as it is. We are all taxed enough as it is. If there is any way to get around paying more, I'm all for it.

there was an article on CNN indicating that 40% of Americans will not pay any federal income taxes.

oh no, I think they need to be taxed more equitably. there are so many things wrong with large corporations (outsourcing, bonuses to failed executives, greed over quality, causing the current recession, just to name a few) If corporations can not be responsible to those that work for them or to pay their fair share (most pay nothing) then let them bleed. As for corporations that are responsible partners, sure, let them pay less.

this thread started out as a joke, right?

It makes it even more amusing when you link to an article dated October 7, 2009 06:00:11 like it is breaking news you are the first to share with the world. :|

About as possible as Obama controlling Stardock

Now back on topic ...

There are a lot of corporations which receive tax breaks, some who have huge profits. The oil companies come to mind. Why jump up and down about Stardock?

Quoting Wizard1956, reply 24
What was Michigan thinking? Supporting business and wanting to keep them in Michigan by allowing tax breaks.   That's fifty additional paychecks to gather state and local taxes from in addition to the money said employees will put back into the local economy. Why would they want to promote that?

Sounds to me like a win-win-win situation for Michigan,Stardock and fifty prospective new workers.

I always find that it's amazing that when a thread like this gets posted the originator very rarely comes back and replies.  It's been over 10 hours and yes people do have a life, they work, have a family and have other things to do.  Still, with such a strong opinion you who have thought that a defense of one's position or opinion on a subject they brought up would have been important to them.

Oh well, never mind then.  :S

I guess someone really ought to say that states have provided tax breaks to companies to start up offices for decades.  I don't really know how long, I'm inclined to say "forever" but that simply can't be true.  Anyway it has nothing to do with the current president, welfare, government control, the current state of the economy, or any imagined conspiracy.  And it's certainly nothing new. It's about getting business into a state to generate jobs, business, and yes, taxes.

I'm just afraid that some poor schmuck who hasn't watched his local news, ever in his life, might not realize just how off base the original post is.

I'll be quiet now, hope you had a good nap from that.|-)

You should have your accountants read this Brad http://losthorizons.com

Actually, every American taxpayer should. The site is huge and no...not a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory site. Once you actually read it...the lights in your head should come on. It might take some time since as I said the site is huge...but worth your time.

I hear-tell the Pentagon is looking into Frogboy's appropriation of [2] handicapped car spaces for a photo-shoot.....
End of quote

Yeah, he does some wicked shit, doesn't he!  :w00t:

I also hear, to boost Stardock coffers, that he's charging the Dep't of Agriculture to study the geese, spider ducks and other critters on Stardock land... you know, camping rights... for the use of electricity and (outdoor) toilets, etc.  The next stage is charging tourists admission and setting up a kiosk selling postcards, souvenirs and other tourist paraphanalia... and of course, Stardock software.... or an exit fee if they don't purchase from the kiosk.

Now some may think this is to raise enough money to unhinge Obama's grip on Stardock - and of course, to provide more jobs - but I think it's much more than that... something more sinister, like buying up oodles of Microsoft shares ... to eventually gain control over the Windows and Office GUI's.  Once Frogboy gets that, skinning will go ahead in leaps and bounds cos there'll be no more hard-coded shit getting in the way... so yeah, it's a win win situation for us.

Well!!!  It makes about as much sense as Stardock collecting corporate welfare...Obama controlling Stardock, don't it.

BTW, Fuzzy, you weren't supposed to make that mind control device public, being that it is based on Stardock technology. That very same technology (un)happycamper88 claims makes us all come back to Stardock software over and over again... that self-same software none of us would love if it weren't for brainwashing and mind control. Yup, you're a very naughty boy orright... wouldn't wanna be in your shoes, giving away trade secrets like that.

Yup... his mummy bought him a new tent and he's off happily camping... the reason he ain't here to pull our legs/piss in our pockets some more.

However, if it pisses down with rain, he'll be back.... a lot less happy and suggesting Frogboy was in collusion with Ma Nature to ruin his vacation in the wild.... not that any of us would swallow that.  If Frogboy was really in collusion with Ma Nature, he'd have info from the horses mouth (so to speak) and we wouldn't have had all that hassle with the weather widgets a while back.
