Cool!

textures

So . . . I was playing around with the new Chrome and its texture based themes, and thinking to myself, "wouldn't it be cool if all my apps did this?"

Then I downloaded the new beta for WindowsBlinds! Textures in everything!

Stardock - you've done it again - you've stolen my heart <3 .

Now - can I have it back, please?

Is there a way to add new textures?

It seems to be a drop target, but it's not adding the images as textures when I drag and drop them.

From https://www.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?aid=364853 I see this, maybe that's it:

A tip for creating textures:

For those of you who want to make .texture files, you should make a copy of an existing .texture file and open it in notepad.  You will then see there are three sections.  One for the taskbar, one for the startmenu and one for the frames.  The images do not have to be the same for all three.

Edit the file pointing to new images (saved as .TGA in the same folder) and you have a new texture.

For skin authors, you can also put .texture files in your skin folder and they will only show for that skin.

mmk, I'll just wait for the next version or so, or maybe do the theme thing. I haven't played with SkinStudio for a while.

Doesn't look like you need to get into skin studio unless you're wanting to have specific textures on a skin by skin basis.  Based on the 1st two paragraphs looks like you can:

Create your texture image, or 2 or 3

Copy a .texture file over to a new file name.

Edit the new .texture file in notpad and replace the names of the old texture images with the ones you've made.
