[Request] - Time Display Options

I don't use a 24 hour clock normally, and I'm not in EST.  Makes keeping up on a forum pretty annoying (Elemental Beta in my case).

Any chance to get some time/date format options in the account settings?

I hate the 24-hour clock too.  I'll see about fixing it.

Sure...the option of localization and 12 hour clocks is kinda standard on most fourms. But it is understandable. Most business in the world (especially those with customer support service) run with EST. And besides, the most powerful cities in the world are located in the EST timezone (think about it)

lol.

it's prob more that stardock is est than "the most powerful cities in the world" are in est, which is debatable. and i live in new york. london paris shanghai singapore etc might question that statement ;)

I've already implemented the 12-hour clock, which was fairly trivial.  However, implementing a timezone selection would take quite a bit more work.  Unfortunately, I don't think it would be worth the time to implement such a feature unless it is heavily requested by the users.

Since Bara wants a request for options:

Please implement an option to change between 12/24 hour clock and for choosing the timezone. (24-clock user in CEST here)

Yeah, I really just wanted an option to change it ala phpBB or any other modern forum software.  A timezone chooser also a standard thing.  You've got a fancy-dan html WYSISWG post editor here, but lacking in pretty much all other forum options.

I'd really like to be able to choose timezone too!

I'd allow me to know when people really post comments

Agreed. In fact, this has been requested many times...I remember requesting it about 3 years ago when they were designing WC2k8 (which became WC2k10).

The problem is that the clock format and timezone are hard-coded pretty much everywhere in the forums.  Creating an option would mean changing a lot of code, opening things up for errors and missed sections of the site.  I'll implement the option eventually, but it won't be until I have some time available to me (and with Elemental around the corner, I wouldn't expect it too soon).

Bara....it's been requested [by me] for 9 years.

I can do it 'heavily' if you wish...but may have to exile myself for spamming....;p

Well, you could try carrying a ton of weight and asking then.  That would apply as "asking heavily" :D
