Is this game still worth playing

The first thing i want to say about Demigod is that i have seen beta releases much more stable and playable then this "Full release".

The most striking thing in this game was for me informaion on the front page of demigod right after release " Please use 3rd party software in order to be able to play this game in multiplayer mode". This is really shamefull to any developers of any game to relay on software which is used mostly to play cracked games to handle multiplayer games in multiplayer based game.

Other things that are unique here: no tutorial (introduction to game, anything that tells you how to play), Failed Pantheon and Skirmish modes (you have wait for ages only to learn that someone drops game coz he gots 2 AI on his team) (or u join people with 400+ pings).Storyline is almost non existent.

8 maps (actualy 6 coz mandala and brothers 95% of times lags like hell and are virtually never played)(Crucible gives unfair advantage to Erebus and cloak of night users)(cataract give advantage to forces of ligh by placing 2 most important flags on same side Hp and enemy gold). So we ending up with 4 balanced map and 2 maps that are speculated. For multiplayer oriented game this is rather small number. Not to mention there is no plans to release any maps in future.

The most hilarius thing is stats and ladder rank ( i have 400 games 271 wins 121 loses  and guy with 7 losses 0 wins is ranked higher then me - is there is any explanation to that???). Seriusly this ranking systems is all about exploing bugs in game.

There is no reaction from stardock to player who uses bugs like "invalid gamestate" and other to end games they are lossing. I mean just look at stats of player like Spokuha 240 games played 123 disconects.

I really doubt this game had anny beta testing done. How could miss minons exploit which allow you to have over 24 minons summoned. Completly unplayable Sedna, overpowered Erebus, Ring of Might. I mean how could it be possible to miss all those exploits and bugs before release???

Soo many useless skill and items just to fill up slots. Can anyone give example of effective using Restorative Scroll, Assassin's Footguards, Ironwalkers, Twig of Life, Forest Band, Bejeweled Goggles. Sedna yetis, rook structual transfer, regulus dead eye,

I wont mention noobs joing "expierienced players" labeled games, conectivity isuses, spiking pings for no reason, bugged lobbys, critical errors, premade players hosting "no premade games" rooms, and so many others things that makes this game so hard to enjoy.

Dont get me wrong i like this game a lot i played way over 800 games (400 here and lot more on GameRanger) but i am just running out of patience and i can't see anyone doing anything to improve this game. It seems this game is fading away as Stardock and GPG realized that they wont sell anymore copies and just plainly dont care about it anymore. I hope im wrong i hope patch 1.2 will do some good but i doubt it.

Hopefully Diablo will be coming out soon and I hope it wont be facing soo many problems like this game. Hope it will be succesfull and fullfilling like Fallout or Bioschock.

Minion exploit? Only because someone is selling the weaker idols, getting more powerfull ones and summons them again? Seems more like a "I get pwned by minions" whyne, sorry.

Can´t say much to the maps and items, I´m not used to the changes made after beta at all.

In addition to the fanbase mods out there, there are plenty of journal posts about the upcoming patch with changelogs etc. Just read them :)

   I think the community as a whole has come to the conclusion that, if you have to ask yourself if you should keep playing while in misery don't bother.  Stop playing and go do something else.  Those of us having fun will keep playing...

u r so right. i love ur post. but u forgot "top clans - comin soon" (i am waiting 5 months) thought i was the only one paid for a beta. worst game support ever. best frustrating game ever. i think demigod came out 1 year too early. next week update is comin. really??? next week aion is starting. demigod will lose a lot of players again. will i ever buy again a game designed by gpg and stardock? dont think so.

 

wie kann man nur so dumm sein und so eine geniale spielidee so versauen. wie geht das?

spiel wird nicht richtig getestet, kommt irgendwie in eine tauschbörse, bevor es überhaupt richtig losgeht(riesen einnahmelücke), grandiose netzwerkprobleme am anfang. 5 gegen 5 gar nicht wirklich spielbar. spielmodi die nix bringen. immer wieder kackt das spiel ab. hab auch noch nie erlebt, dass der rechner wegen einem spiel so oft einfriert und nichts mehr geht. teilweise ging der taskmanager nicht mehr auf. wasn das fürn quellcode??? hätte das spiel jmd privat programmiert, hätte man wahrscheinlich gesagt: für open source ganz nett, aber von einer profispieleschmiede -> einfach nur lächerlich. seit nem monat oder schon länger wird von neuen demigods erzählt: wo sind denn mal ein paar screenshots dazu???die einzige chance die demigod hatte, war das momentan nix richtig mitreißendes auf dem markt war. hab auch nie geschnallt, warum nicht öfters kleine updates rausgekommen sind
