Why did the game get upped from $50 to $60?

I preordered in june and just a few hours a go I got a email saying my preorder failed. So I went to impulse to preorder again and the Price now is $60. Why has the price risen? No warning frrom stardock. I'm too scared to pay the preorder money now as how do I know if impulse don't charge even more just before the game comes out!

That link you provided must be old as when I go to it it says $49.95. When you click it you get a price of $59.45

Its shouldn't matter as stardock have stated that they control their pricing on their own products. I live in Australia. Where I live has nothing to do with why the price has gone up. It was US$50 when I preordered and now it is $60.

It's possible that the price you're seeing is in AUS$, not US$.  I live in NZ, and while I can't remember exactly, I believe that prices in Impulse show up as NZ$ for me.  And if Oz is anything like NZ at the moment, your exchange rate might make this reasonable...

My guess is that it is showing the price in local currency as I get euros in that screen - you are getting Australian dollars.

When I pre-ordered Elemental last night there was a very clear message that I'd be charged in my local currency ($Canadian) on the day the product "shipped". It even showed me what the current exchange rate was as of 9PM of the evening I placed my order AND warned me that some credit cards screw with the exchange rate or may insert additional fees.

If anything I'd say that Stardock have been more transparent about foreign currency exchange rates than any other online service I've used recently!! I was quite impressed actually.

Could be new to your area. I've been paying in Canadian $ for a while now. I like that they show you exactly what its going to cost, but its can be a bit odd with pre-orders since the exchange rate can cause the price to flucutate before you actually get charged.

As I am US, and don't follow this, I don't know for sure.  However it is very likely it was changed with phase 4 of impulse last week.
