Sins constantly crashes every 5 minutes

Hi,
I'm using Entrenchemnt at the moment and the game is constantly crasshing to desktop with this:
RunTime Error!
Program: Games/Sins of Solar Empire/Sins of Solar Empire.exe
The application has requested that RunTime terminate.....
I'm using Windows Vista 64 Home Premium. Once it crashes during the game I can load it up and play for another couple of minutes, but it's too annoying to play that way.
Any ideas?
