Change Start Menu Font of Programs List and Places List

I am trying to change the font of these two areas of my Start Menu to the Zune HD Font (aka: Zegoe). But no matter what I've tried, nothing works. I have successfully changed the More/All Programs the Font aswell as the Explorer Title bar and pop up menu fonts but thats all. PLEASE help! I'm willing to do anyting to change thses fonts. Additionally, is this something that Stardock will include in newer versions? Why they left the ability to customize these two areas (Programs and Places Lists) is beyond reason.

Only vista\7 supports changing of those fonts, if your in XP it's not possible.

However the start menu in XP does use your system\explorer font, you will not however see the changes until after a reboot, sometimes killing explorer will force it to change also.

I actually found a way, Well, it's more of a Hack. For anyone who'd like to change the default font in xP, here's the reg fix:

This describes how to restore the default to Tahoma font. But I used this to simply set the default to whatever font I choose (the font has to first already be installed in C: WINDOWS, Font folder). I set it to Zegoe (the Zune HD font)

#249 Set Default XP Font Back to Tahoma

Run: regedit Then locate this string:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]
"MS Shell Dlg 2"="Tahoma" (type in whatever font you wish) "Zegoe"
"MS Shell Dlg"="Tahoma" (type in whatever font you wish) "Zegoe"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
Then simply reboot your PC and you're good to go!
