Excel 2007 is not using neither aero nor windowsblinds skin

I don't believe you can skin Office 2007 at all.

you should have frames and close/min/restore buttons at least but everything else appers to be controlled by the program. why your's is not???

Are you on XP or Vista?

WindowBlinds will not skin the frames of Office 2007 on Windows XP.

I've found that on XP it won't skin, on Vista you get frames only.

If I shutdown windowsblinds I have the same issue. This means is not windowsblinds but the Q is why?

That's a few version behind. Try updating to the most recent version.

notuo I don't think this has been asked but are you running any other customizing programs? 

The other question would be are there any updates for Office or Excell available that you don't have?

What Lantec means is you have an old version - try a newer version

use Impulse - uninstall old, reboot, install newer with Impluse, reboot

been around for awhile haven't we. there have been a lot of changes to the downloading process. I changed over kicking and screaming but for the most part, all seems well. I bet you could probably download and install from stardock, it's just not the preferred manner.

I just opened sdc to check

I'm on XP and

SDC is showing I have WB6.40.114 dated 02/11/2009 installed

Impulse says I have WB6.40.114 dated 03/24/2009 installed (matches the dates in wb config)

what version/date does SDC show as available?

If it 6.4 dated 02/2009 - 03/2009 - I say go ahead and try the SDC way 1st

1st -revert WB to default windows skin - usually one of the skins all the way to the left in the list

  this will unload wb

use sdc to uninstall

reboot

use sdc to install new - this will give you all new files instead of just updating some of them

i think the 02/2009 are when the files were created for use with SDC

and 03/2009 are when created for use with Impulse

and I'm thinking eventually some things won't be updated in SDC anymore

I think that has already happened.

I'll take your advise and thanks for your research on this.

I went to some groups (microsoft.public.office.misc and vistax64.com) with no results.

So,  I decided to uninstall WB then boot and tried again. Same result.

Then I uninstalled office and boot. No WB now.

I installed office and tried. No WB, just office and same result. everything is with glass borders but office. So I guess I have to fix first this thing here before I move again into WB. Don't you think?

If you knows where to ask for this I'll appreciate that info because I am lost now.

If I install WB (even my version) I have the same issue, all is with skin but office.

Maybe some other software is conflicting with office on this; but I have no clue where to find some info.

I hope you can advise on where to go now.

up to you - if WB is still skinning other stuff then should still be okay to use

once office fixed, then should then work with WB

only suggestions i found so far:

A. Display: Color settings should be set higher than '256'.
Check to see what Theme settings you have.

B. Accessibility: Display High Contrast should be unchecked.

C. System: Hardware=>Device Manager:
Display Driver - If SMS Remote Control Agent is present
disable it then restart your PC.

just a side note: I lost my choosing of icons on my old system in the start menu, all icons were the default windows image UNLESS I had the icon on the desktop also, very frustrating. I blamed it on "object desktop" (no proof though). I uninstalled all WC product and the problem remained and remains today as it is my son's computer now.

the point; some things once broke can not be fixed, you may have to just live with it. look at it as one of life's little tests.

I think i'll try for a while and then go back to new version of WB.

gmc2: You are right, Sometime ago I used ccleaner and all of my icons went to "who knows". and never got it back properly. This is one thing I can live without, but is just a "I have to know why" thing now.  Just wondering if this is a life's test...hehe
