I am a firm believer in Customizing My desktop..However Stardock thinks and has everyone else thinking that they need stardock to customizie they're desktop...NOT TRUE.I Run Winstep Xtreme 7.4. and few skins plus different walls.And my DESKTOP LOOKS VERY DIFFERENT from All these others....Windowblinds has caused a few pobs on my XP. Not going through this AGAIN...THZ

i didn't notice before but you are exiled, didn't think you could be posting in the forums being exiled. 

If you don't like WBs or the other Stardkock programs that fine with me.  I don't like vegitables, but I don't go around trolling about it.

Actually both Stardock and Winstep basically think customizing is good and they both think they have good products for that purpose

I love customizing.  As a matter of fact I, like many others use both WB and Winstep.

I'm sorry but I find that I have to post another reply, yes we should all just leave this one die, I know that.

I do find it hard to understand that if you decide that one program is better than another that folks have an overwhelming  need, deisre or whatever that the whole world needs to know it. 

I wonder if the poster has gone on to the Winstep forums and let his opinions be known.  I also wonder what the response there was especially since alot of folks use both programs.

I dunno if you've been paying much attention to Stardock - but they're an old company. Very old. It's not like they popped up yesterday.

They've been around since 1998.

So I dunno why this all of the sudden . . .

In any case, they do tend to serve different purposes. WinStep looks more like a total shell replacement, while WindowBlinds focuses more on skinning the existing shell.

It's up to you, really. My experience with total shell replacements is that they often tend to break applications that like to hook into the shell. I don't need much more than a new skin anyways.
