WindowBlinds 7 Beta 2 bug reports

Beta 2 of WindowBlinds has been released.  This build focuses on UI enhancements.

The previous UI is still the default from Impulse.  You can access the new (amazing!) UI from your start menu, or from the button in the old UI (screenshot)

 

Post anything that looks odd.  Make sure to give us your WB system information from the WB app, your OS (including 32 or 64 bit), and if it's hard to explain (or even if it isn't) a screenshot.

Absolutley Love the New Aero skinning on the WB7 update, BTW: how many new skins were in the update, my mate reckons he got eight, i got seven. He said there was an "Aero Midnight" skin, but it wasnt in my update. :(O But WB7 is far more nicer now.

Beta 3 : Worst build I had for a while... Half of Windows is classic (for exampe menubars and menus - still after 2 Reboots) and even in the wb config I have no titlebar. And the worst of all : After 1 minute WB switches to classic without any interference by myself. I don't even have WB config open aby more !

Sorry Neil, silly me... I thought it could be a good idea to install Mycolors also as it showed a pretty recent date. Figured that combination doesn't work so good. So I unsinstalled it, WB7 uninstalled with it, restarted, installed WB 7, restarted and now everything works as announced.

I installed the latest update, and suddenly I can't get any windows to fully maximize on my secondary screen! X(

Anyone know if the ToolbarIcon & Animation problem has been fixed yet? Never got a reply on this. After trying to apply them the revert back to the defaults. Haven't upgraded or renewed since this problem.

I had the same experience as c242.  I installed the update to Windowblinds 7 first, then rebooted, then installed the update for MyColors and rebooted.

i am using windows 7...when it crashes i just let it restart..i think it's pretty steady now because i havent had any issues with it..but is there something about nvidia that clashes with wb 7 Neil? asked cuz i heard something about ajusting settings on nvidia control not so long ago for the same issue i been having..

Using W7 Build 7100.

This happened with these skins: Tinted (by me; not yet released), Corporate, Diamond, and Altitude. I used the W7 styles on each skin.

I have been unable to reproduce any maximizing issues with the latest WB build. 

Could you post a screenshot showing what is happening please as it may give me a clue as to what is going on.  I will say build 7100 is somewhat old which may be a factor.

I agree, that may be my whole problem. If so, it'll be solved after I get the full version of W7 next week.

Here's a screeny. Note that the window on the left (main) screen maximizes fine. The window on the right, well, that's as good as it gets.

great update. I am still getting the same problem with some skins not loading in the new interface, they are giving me the there is no .uis file are you sure it is a windowblinds skin. Again loading the old WB6 interface and the skins load perfectly.

I did a little more playing around with it, and now I realize the new colored Aero styles aren't working on the window frame.

Hi all,

With the recent update of MyColors some users are experience issues with WindowBlinds 7 and MyColors both working on the same computer.  For those who need to run both, please install MyColors first, then reboot.  Then install WindowBlinds and then IconPackager.  We are working on a fix for the reverse (installing MyColors second), however at this time this work around is necessary.

I am curious though if the ability to save new preset colorings and settings for skins is going to be possible in WB7. I had alot of these saved in WB6 and they do not show up now in WB7. I have alot of times where I have recolored/darkened/changed settings for a skin and saved it as a preset because that way when I download a new blind and want to try it but then go back to my previous blind and settings it was easy to do.

Ok so after sitting here just now and testing out some new blinds and then going back to the previous one I was using I see that my question is invalid. Even though you can't save multiple recolorings of the same blind I do like this new way and the fact that recoloring settings apply to the individual blinds and not all.  :thumbsup:

Also experiencing this to an extent on my Laptop, on which is running Vista Ultimate 32-bit. The windows do maximize, ultimately, but they don't seem to want to. I have to hit the max/restore button a few times to get it maxed. :S

Still experiencing problems after minimizing and restoring a maximized window on my main monitor.

This is with RIP_2007 (extracted from the WinCustomize.com suite), The released Windows 7 x64 (just got it today, fresh install), and the latest WindowsBlinds.

Hi all, you'll have to excuse my ignorance. I am a paid up subscriber to both Wincustomize and OD. But I cannot seem to find the WB7.0 beta.

 

I thought it would show up as an option in Impulse when I renewed my sub to WC... Can anyone help? I'm dying to get hold of this beta
