state of the game

Been supporting this game from the beginning, but lately the last few weeks games been on a downhill spiral.  Logged in tonight for the first time in a 4 or 5 days and theres only 5 games up at 7 pm (est).  Feels like the games been losing its appeal, and I can't be the only one judgin by the amount of custom games running at "peak" hours.   Just doesn't seem to be too much varyin strategy in this game as far as itemization builds go for each demigod.

 

Just wonderin how many other people got into the beta for Heroes of Newerth, granted it is almost a carbon copy of dota, the interface is years ahead of demigod unfortunately.  Though I'm undecided if i would actually purchase this game, gotta admit its loads of fun currently and is replacing that void demigod has left.  also Leage of Legends looks good as well, look forward testin that as well

I'm in HoN beta as well and there are more ppl online there than in demigod.   HoN and LoL's client/server model is great, you can reconnect to the game if you disconnect.  Not much lag, no need to worry about other people's simspeed.

I think gpg made a wrong choice with using p2p, but they were using supcom engine so they had to use it i guess.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

It's like saying you won't play Half Life because Bioshock is out. Oh noes, two fps's!

I'm in the HoN beta, I own demigod. Both are great games, and I enjoy playing both. I doubt I'll drop one for the other, as variety is the spice of life, and all that :)

that s not the only wrong choice GPG made.

 

and what has the supcom engine to do with "p2p only" ?

 

some work and this game could also have a client-server system, but GPG was to naive !

 

some months ago, DG was my favourite for the "HoN vs LoL vs DG" battle, but sry, gpg has done everything to loose against them.....

 

and thats why DG is going down slowly while others will survive in long terms after release.

If you guys aren't happy with Demigod, don't play it. I enjoy it and find it to be very fun to play, and will continue to play it for some time. If you only have the capacity to play one game, that's hardly Demigods fault.

Played HoN, The lobby and Game Host are very good. Actual game and community I prefer DemiGod and haven't the inclination or the will to get past that with HoN.
