ObjectDock disaapears after hibernation

I installed ObjectDock on my Eee PC, and occasionally after it awakes from standby mode or hibernation, the whole thing just dissapears.  I thought it was a hiding thing at first, but I checked task manager and it isn't even listed among the processes.  The only way to have it appear again is to start the objectdock application, and it's annoying to do that everytime it comes out of hibernation.

Is there any way to fix this?

PS: The positioning/interaction is set at "Hide in background when not in use", and I have checked the "Load ObjectDock at startup" box.

Thank you.

Just out of curiosity, what build are you running? I was going to say that it's a known issue, but you said that it is not even listed amongst the processes, which is strange. What OS is running on your Eee PC? I don't think there's a way to fix it on your end, so we'll have to see what wizardry Stardock chaps can master to tackle this one. It's worth opening a support case with them.

It's running XP with Service Pack 3.  Can't believe I left out such an important info. =P

Please also tell us what build of OD you're running. Also, it's a free or Plus version?

I have had the same issue with OD free version on xp

what happens if you use 'hide off screen when not in use' instead?

It's the free version.

Thank you. However, which build is it? Click on a dock -> This Dock -> About Object Dock... Also, it's worth mentioning that the free version isn't as lucky in terms of updates as the paid-for version.

It's free, not supported and an "as is" program.

It's Version 1.90, Build 536.

It doesn't happen all the time.  Just occasionally.  Like 3 out of 10 times every time I come out of StandBy or Hibernation.

I just bought objectdock plus and am having a similar problem.  Occasionally the app just stops.  I'm not suspending, although I do use suspend quite a bit.  It's just pretty frequently I go to use the dock and it is gone.  I have to restart the app and then i have to wait for it to initialize.  Its faster to just use the start menu.

Im running XP SP3 and 1.90 Plus 535u

I'm experiencing the same problem, even without hibernating or standing by. It has to do with the latest update to build 536. I have another PC (xp-sp3) running the previous version and no problem at all.

Similar problem, ok for standby but not restored after hibernatie to disk. This is on Dell Vostro 1720 w/ 4 GB RAM, 32-bit XP Pro SP3, and Objectdock Plus 1.90 Plus Build 535U

I bought the Plus version two days ago and I am having the same problem. Every time I come out of hibernation ObjectDock has gone and I have to restart it manually.

A Fujitsu Siemens laptop running Windows XP, service pack three, and ObjectDock 1.90 Plus build 535u

Open the OD configuration window and make sure that "Load ObjectDock at startup" is checked.

Having that setting unchecked won't make a difference as long as OD was running prior to hibernation. That setting only applies when a system is shut down and started from scratch.

I realize that. Was just mentioning it as more of a safety measure. :)

Well, for the record, My ObjectDock (details in post above) does "Load at Startup" perfectly, but does disappear into the ether after the laptop comes out of hibernation. Every time so far.

Since I also have ObjectDock hide the toolbar the only sensible way I have found to retrieve it after hibernation is to keep a shortcut available on the desktop.

This isn't mission critical, but it IS somewhat annoying :)

It shouldn't make a difference whether it's mission-critical or not, a bug is a bug. AFAIK, Stardock know of this and acknowledge this as a bug, but...well, you've heard it all before, haven't you? :'(

What I'm seeing is that object dock 536 is not disapearing but it moves itself from task bar area at the bottom to upper left corner and draws all the icons in the same place. After I turn "autohide" off (using context menu in the upper/left) it goes back to the original position at the bottom.

It happens after suspend, hibernation and resolution change (when connecting external monitor)

I hope this helps

I give you one possible solution; you try to create a scheduled task that naturally points to ObjectDock Plus.exe giving highest privileges by setting  in actions  tab two actions; on program start at startup and at access. Perhaps it's a problem of system directories protected, where it goes to install ObjectDock. At this point it would be better to install it in unprotected directories, such as AppData /Roaming.
