Why I left Demigod.

Why I left Demigod.

The game simply does not have the option of removing AI take over of a dropped players demigod.  Add this, I will come back to the community.

Agreed that this is exactly like a FPS. I remember last game when I was playing Regulus. I lined up my sniper rifle, shot at the guy, but hit him in the chest, and he had an overshield on, so he lived :( I couldn't get a second shot, as one of my teammates caught him with a sticky grenade. Good stuff.

mhm when I'am thinking about it, i feel it's more like Sims, real life simulation

-You can create a name

-Equip him with leather, dresses and hats (even rings)

-You can walk up to anyone and interact, even do some shooting or running together-

-For gods sake, you have a house called fortress and you can install upgrades to it :O

There is a new genre name coined first (as far as I know) by the creators of League of Legends for this type of gameplay. They called it MOBA: Multiplayer Online Battle Arena.

I guess we can call it that.

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena doesn't even make sense. Multiplayer and Online aren't needed in the same acronym - not to mention that the game has LAN support which destroys designating this game as 'Online'. Any game like Quake 3, Unreal Tournament or Tribes falls into this category as well as any competitive multiplayer game who's maps or levels have barriers thus designating them as Arenas.

Also, this thread was successfully ended 30 replies before my own.

Quite honestly the dumbest thing I've ever seen on these forums.
Good job, it takes a lot to impress me these days.

actually  ull find it is the communities loss  the more people leave > the less of a community > the less of a community > the shiter the game = less of profit

so SD may not be faced with someone who bought the game leaving but  the him saying to his friend dont buy demigod  it isn't worth it  could spread and then  the game would die

hmm yes  there are people still buying the game  but as my friend archon said there is only so many times u can play the same dudes

all i gott asay to that ... is be patient with new content.

i was referring to entertainment value when i said "ur loss". but yes, both sides lose out.

it is better to have a dg controled by ai than not having the dg at all.

BUT you have to know how to use him right. don't expect the ai to help you. you have to follow the ai and help him! assist him. that's how you can do teamwork with an ai. of course this won't really work if  you have too many ai demigods. but if you lose one player it is a quite well working option and far better than not having this dg at all.

i've wone several games 2vs3 like this. hell i even could win 1vs3 with two ais one time (of course my opponents were not very good in the latter case).

@rts or not discussion: this game is an rts. it's not a classical one but still an rts! diablo on the other side has absolutly nothing todo with rtts and only some minor aspects of rpg.

Theres plenty of content to support this game for the next 5 years. It just needs to be fine tuned and give the community a way to prosper. This is why games shouldn't be catered to the casual player.

Last night HoN crashed on me mid game.  Instead of going into an hour long depression, laying on the couch and watching some TV, and losing my will to play for the rest of the night like I would have with Demigod I simply booted it back up and reconnected to the game in progress.  Simply amazing.

Hang in there kiddy, its ok. If you want I can call your mom and tell her about your foul language on the internets!

But yes, little one. I played dota for about 6 years, and in that time only about 2 "unique" heros spawned, the map never changed, just balance and bug finding. Still one of the best games ive ever played, too bad the community is dead for the last couple of years.

I haven't played demigod in a while except single player 2 times since 1.1 was released just to see if any of the major bugs for me have been fixed. They have not. I moved on to other games and playing some old games. It does lack major content to make this game replayable. It was all hyped up in the begining for a lot of free content updates. Now after everyone has purchased it the only free content being promised is 2 free demigods?? Ya that is worth the cash I paid... Now in the dev journals for the next patch we are talking about community stuff that should of been in the game since day one. Nothing about the major bugs still in game. I have already told several friends not to buy it yet, If the game gets into a state where the following happens I have 3 friends that would love this game and have been asking me about the state of it all the time:

1. Bugs must be fixed.

2. More content is needed to match what the price of the game.

3. The ladder is worthless, yet the game is geared to be competitive Multipler pretty much exclusively. Single player is a joke and should of never even been included in the game.

On a side note I do hope all these things get fixed. I love the concepts of this game and its really fun, but right now I am tired and bored of my love/hate relationship with the game ;).

si1foo you've played one game since the stat reset, that's hardly hardcore.

@wickedbear  man u are too patient  only about 2 unique heroes so howmany heroes in total

@woppin     i havn't been playing because there is nothing new too it i have played every demigod and all the good builds  it is boring to play a game where u can predict everythinguntil new content is added i wont be playing it  not really worth the time i would rather be working on my game designer course  or playing a game  i havn't played before  being a hardcore gamer isn't staying on one game for fucking ages  it is playing a wide variety of games and being good-great at them all
