Done with Pantheon and Skirmish

Started playing Pantheon for the first time. 3 wins in a row, all went great, pretty much dominated and caused the other team to concede. Next 3 games were lost, 2 unhandled exception errors, and a 2v2 where my teammate disconnected. I don't know if I can play a game where the rankings don't reflect true skill, but instead how lucky you were to not get an error. So now I sit at 3-3, and I'm not a .500 player. I don't claim to be an almighty pro, but I'm pretty damn good and I do care about record and rankings. Shoot me.

Oh well, back to demigod custom games, and Warcraft III.

So how does custom games help prevent unhandled exceptions and teammates disconnecting?  And if everyone is subject to the same unfortunate pitfalls, doesn't that lead to an accurate portrayal of relative skill in the long run?

In custom games I haven't played in any games where teammates will leave or drop before the game starts, starting off in a lobby makes a huge difference, and you can see if people have good or bad connections. I have also noticed that in pantheon mode, everyone's ping is higher, I don't know why... it's like in the 200s.

It doesn't lead to an accurate portrayal of relative skill, people are either going to have better, or worse luck than others. It's a system currently broken, and it can't be defended really. I haven't been one to complain at all since the game came out, but it's getting very frustrating months after release. And yet I refuse to quit playing completely because I really do love this game.

Simple, if the game lags or somebody disconects/quits early, rehost the game. Sometimes it takes a little while to get a 4v4 or 5v5 going. However when it works, it's so much fun. Just finished a 4v4 on Zikurat and it was one of the best games I've played so far - oh we lost btw. Doesn't matter, stats are nice to look at but if you want good games play customs!

No AIs, map of your choice, meet new people, make friends, chat in the lobby. I tried a few Pantheons and Skirmishes but thats not my thing. I don't want to play Domination on Crucible if I'm in the mood for Conquest on Mandala. Another reason to play custom: 5v5 matches without AIs! Please make sure your upload speed is good before you join though. ;)

200 ping is fine, 300 ping is fine, anything more and it gets to be a problem but any ping under 300 is fine.
