Black Screen

I just bought and downloaded this game. I tried launching it from the Windows start menu and from impulse and from the launcher. I tried editing the intro movies in the user.settings file to FALSE and that did not work either. I am running a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2, 2GB of RAM, and an nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS High performance graphics card with 256MB GDDR3. I really hope I didn't waste $30.

 

I can't even begin to state my dissatisfaction with this product. This Impulse program seems to be complete garbage. This game simply isn't working trying for the past 4 hours every known thing to man, changing firewalls, editting the user.settings file on everything listed in the troubleshooting guide. I am absolutely disgusted so far. If I can't get this resolved by Monday, I want my money back all of accounts with anything associated with Stardock to be deleted.

I recently uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Now every time I open Impulse, it tells me it isn't installed and I have to redownload 1.43 gigs and install it just to open it up and it have to reinstall yet again...

Well, I'm no good at comp. stuff, but I would just do what Impulse says for now. Anyway... I wouldn't scrap it by monday.  None of the support staff, moderators, or even helpful ppl (i.e., Harpo99999 and Annatar, maybe even Danman) have visited here yet... so have some patience and then thing will work out.

Impulse is a piece of trash apparently that dosen't do what it says it did...if I have to keep reintstalling the game.

Well, how many times have you re-installed so far?

Also, did you make sure that the games minimum requirements were matched/exceeded by your comp.? Just ideas, again, I'm no expert.

My comps specs can handle this game. Maybe not the highest of the settings but my specs are 200MHz shy of being on the recommended specs list.

Shy as in over or under? If under, that might be your biggest problem.

Mine are way above Minimum requirements and just shy of recommended, which should mean top quality settings.

 

NOW, this may be the problem. When I download this game through Impulse, i says its 1.43 gigs, but when you check the statuts of the download it xxx.xMB / ~750MBs. Is Impulse only doanloading half the game? I don't know what the deal is, but I've pretty much given up. Hopefully I'll get a good response by Monday.

Do the technical support moderators not work on weekends? I know this is the case on the WoW forums. Wondering if thats the case in these as well.
