Open Beta?

Hi...just bought the pre-order for Elemental. But, I cannot find the Beta. Perhaps there is not a beta yet? I thought there was....and if there is, where can I find it?

Thanks

And still wondering why the main page isn't updated. I know Stardock people are busy but come on... It's not like Frogboy himself updates it... right?8O

Humm... main page says June, and its July 1 as of this post. Would be nice if they updated that to September.

First week of september you say? I guess Frogboy got my letter asking for a Birthday present Beta after all.

They were aiming for late june on the limited entry cloth map version.  It's a little late, but not that late.

probably would've been on time if they hadn't pulled Elemental people for DemiGod work...

I thought the late June alpha release was adjusted for the Demigog delay...

it was.   Then adjusted to July because they want to "polish" the alpha for some reason.

pshhh:rolleyes: Who needs polish? I'd be happy with 1's and 0's.

Ok, no, not really, but with this delay I would almost expect the alpha to be more than just the cloth map:drool:

the delay is only like a month.  And the game's release isn't until 2010.  One of the things that is included in the "Polish" is AI...  back on the 24th I asked boogiebac if the 25th was still 'go' and he said the AI was not working yet, so no alpha until we had an enemy to play against.  (where 'we' means those lucky enough to be in the alpha)

Besides, the removal of the 3D map has nothing to do with how "done" they are...   it is to force users to look at the core-gameplay rather than wine about stuff like graphics (see the demigod beta)

I think what they wanted and most of you fell for it was just some upfront money so they could take a nice long summer vacation on your dough. lol I never liked paying someone for work not done because of this. You get all kinds of promises and perks promised and blah blah and in the end you end up waiting on them to do something they promised months ago. What a nice excuse using Demigod as a reason for the setback and you all still waiting to get some value out of your preorder. hahaha suckers.

You obviously don't know how Stardock handles pre-orders, do you?:troll: :troll:

noone has paid a cent for anything yet..

^^^  even if it looks like you have (banks like to put money on "hold" for a few days because cards are checked for validity and they are unsure if a charge is going to shortly follow)

They've managed to rake it in all right, considering that nobody's credit card has been charged yet. Yep, I can see Frogboy right now cackling and rolling around in the $0 he's collected from Elemental.

Wow, I am not prone to foul language, but for some reason 'fucktard' comes to mind whenever I read this.

I preordered 2 days ago and now I have less money in my account because they charged me. So yes they do take the money.

No, they don't, see reply #15.  If you have already, learn to read.

If you used your bank card/credit card that is a authorization hold. This has nothing to do with Stardock. The money is returned after 1 to 30 days depending on the banks policy, unless of course the merchant clears the charge i.e. Stardock release the game tomorrow and charges for it.

I have already paid for the game. I paid in the former Stardock currency known as tokens

Or perhaps he just went out and bought some damned beers. I Can't imagine that he didn't spend any of his other money in the last 2 days.

I have a bank record to prove it.

in 1 to 30 days you won't...   because the funds were never actually removed from your account.  You'll see it as a "pending" transaction, and while most banks lower the balance to reflect any "pending" deductions, it will not/cannot over draft as a result because the money is never removed.   It stays pending for however long the bank leaves those in pending state (no longer than 30 days)  then it will vanish from your "records" and the money will "magically" be back in your account.

Cool so I still have that money left in my account and I can use it for shopping in the morning. Thanks for clearing that up.
