Demo

I believe the Demo is slated for next week sometime actually, although it might get pushed back a little. Keep an eye open for it, you won't regret it 

I thought there was a possibility it would be this week...

My current understanding is that the patch 1.1 will be released this week, and the Demo will be based on this code when it launches the following week. This might have changed, however I don't recall reading that it had.

any idea what the demo is gonna have in it? Is it single player only? Can you only play a couple maps/ a couple demigods? etc etc

I heard it's online-only and you can play 4/8 demigods and 1/8 maps.

Kind of stupid though. Toosing you into a multiplayer game when you first play is kind of stupid. You will get flamed and won't understand anything the first time you play.

I suggest making single player skirmish available and tournament locked. Also only make Easy and Normal AI available with the Hard and Nightmare ones locked just to prepare the player for online play.

And 2 instead of 1 maps would be great.

I think they also said that demo people won't be able to play with retail people, so nobody will understand anything the first time they play, unless a bunch of retail people get the demo to beat up on the newbies.

I would like to think the Demo would include offline Skirmish of the same map available online. This would give people a chance to practice before heading out into the abyss we call the internet. I know my first games with Demigod were offline to learn a thing or two before jumping in.

If it doesn't provide the single player part, I'd have to question the logic behind the decision. This isn't Counter-Strike; it's a lot more complex.

I really hope the demo hits soon- I'm really itching to give this game a try. I'm absolutely terrible in RTSes, but I know this one is different so I'm highly interested. Hopefully Stardock/GPG can get one out the door soon.
