Desktop X objects won't lock

I've downloaded a couple simple animations and I layered them on top of each other to make a cool effect up in the upper right corner of the screen. I've set the coordinates seperately, I've set them up to lock and not move, but it seems every time I open up a program such as Internet Explorer, one of them (never both at once) will jump to the opposite end of the screen. Those two objects are the only ones affected, I have a couple others and they stay in place during anything.
