Demigod IRC Channel

Hey everyone, I'm a frequent Custom Game player. Don't know what all that Pantheon mess is about, but regardless, the game is fun except for the excessive crashing and terrible matchmaking system.

Anyways, anyone who has played games competively before (namely Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead, etc. basically first-person shooters) is familiar with Internet Relay Chat (IRC).


For those that are new to IRC, the hands-down best IRC client is mIRC. Which you can google for your (free) downloading pleasure. You can use it as long as you need. It is a chat program that will allow you to talk to other people real time and hopefully set up decent matches between good players.


Regardless, onto my main point. I have set up a channel (#demigod) on the GameSurge network.

For the newbies out there:

1. Download mIRC and install it.

2. Select Connect and choose the GameSurge Network as your server.

3. type "/j demigod" as soon as you are connected.

4. You can also choose to have an auth which allows you to gain additional commands and access, this is free of course and is available at www.gamesurge.net

5. Talk to people! Get matches! Find a good partner to play with instead of some random noob!

Join up, have fun, if there is another IRC place for Demigod, I don't know about it, but I do know that Impulse's chat system is terrible and IRC is the best. Cheers!

Or, you can use irc.stardock.com, #demigodgame. This is the same channel you use in the ingame chat client.

It's just a bare-bones IRC client hardcoded to our server as noted by chuwy. You can freely connect with whatever third-part client you prefer.

I think it needs to be less barebones so to speak. I never know when someone is chatting with me or not, of course the GUI has a lot of issues right now, the least of which is whether or not someone's talking to me in-game. You should basically look at Steam, and take notes at this point.

VENTRILO INFO:

Ventrilo is a stand-alone FREE voice-chat program (servers obviously cost money to run).


But, there is hope! I have a server and people are welcome to use it as it has pretty much infinity slots

Feel free to do the quick download and connect up to:

You can also come into this vent and play in the DEMIGOD channel if you want to find decent players to play with as opposed to noobs who buy priests.

I think people who offer up public vent slots are awesome, but also you should mention Teamspeak.  Having used both, I think they are both fine, but the nice thing about TS is that you can host your own server for free.
