Tired of this

Just came back from a trip abroad 2 days ago.

Power up my pc, catching up on some mail.

Impulse quicklaunch icon says there is update to Demigod. Ok. I open Impulse and try to update Demigod. Says it needs to update Impulse first. Ok. I download the Impulse update.

Error at the end of download.

And you know, I'm just not going to mail tech support again. Enough is enough.

Uninstalled. Going to greener pastures. There are greener pastures, you know.

You guys are cute, but by all the gods, big and small and in between, build stuff that works.

Good luck to all the players. Banzai !

And no one will care when/why they quit, either.

No offense, but what exactly was the point to this post if you're not going to ask for help?

In any case, sorry to see you go. Good luck with the.....greener pastures.

I will... when in 6 months time this game is dead and you can't find anyone to play. As has happened to many great games taht were unfinished... see hellgate london, Age of Conan... the list goes on.

No offense Mercury but you've been saying that for months.  We get it.

Its a little frustration multi player was inoperative today for me personally, and pantheon froze my PC when it was searching for games. .  Will wait a few days and try again.

Till then I shall play some Team Fortress 2.  I picked it up for 10 bucks and I can't stop playing

Also I would reccomend ANYONE try Plants VS Zombies.  I can't put that down either, I think its 10 bucks on steam.

Just some alternatives to cope with frustration isntead of giving up.

I've also discovered that Freedom Force is now US$4.99 and the original Splinter Cell is also US$4.99 and have been enjoying these amazing games again. If Demigod was working, I'd most likely never have found them.

That's how I discovered Sacred II on the Xbox.

I downloaded the latest patch and will try that out. I have to admit I was lured (again) by the dev sense of confidence in stating that the multiplayer problems are "behind us" now. Here's hoping.

None taken, Frogboy.

And yes, I had the feeling that my criticism was seen as if it's in the spirit of the above post.

It wasn't. I suggested postponing release date in Beta. I wrote in an early email that I have no intentions of asking for refund whatever happens, out of respect for GPG. And after the release I said my opinion but also said I have patience, that repairs will take long, so ease off on all-nighters in the office. And of course, I kept trying to play the game occasionally and reported occasional success.

But life has dynamics. Maybe if I hadn't gone on a trip I would stick with it longer.

Actually, I'm not sure I would have done things differently in your shoes. Maybe postponing release date would have been more harmful financially than the way things turned out. Maybe the under-estimate of connectivity problems and significance of other bugs was reasonable. It doesn't seem so to me ; I think the reports from beta testers were not addressed sufficiently. But I am not working in the Stardock building and my decisions are not loaded with responsibility for Stardock or GPG jobs, and more importantly, I don't have the whole picture.

I don't like the words 'disappointment' or 'too bad' etc, so I won't use them :) things happen. Just do your best.

Cheers !

Well, honestly, the people on this board are probably well less than 1% of the people who bought the game. I'm very impressed that the people who work here actually listen to what people say, but don't get worked up over the inevitable... I'll say, agressive ignorant people.

Despite the various connection issues and bugs, I still see Demigod as an excellent game when it works. Although I could understand the amount of frustration Mercury was going through I suppose. Either way, good luck with finding your greener pastures.
