Forum Update - June 2, 2009

Hello everyone!

I just pushed an update to the forums with some heavy performance improvements done to the backend by our database engineer.  A lot of things were changed, so I don't expect this update to be perfect.  Please take a look around, and if you notice any problems or any areas that could use another performance boost, let me know here!

There were also other, minor changes made to the design and back-end structure of the forums.  Most of these are miniscule, so I won't bother to list them, but anything that seems off or wrong is definitely a bug, so be sure to let me know here or via PM!

im having the same issue, i went to a post that said zero replies, i posted, but it turns out there were about 4 posts already there once i pressed the reply button

now im trying to go back to the post because the OP posted again and when i clicked on the thread the OP comes up but there are no replies, then i backed out to the main page and it says there are no replies there...

im using IE7 and reading the forums via Impulse

I'm having similar problems. Posts that I know I've replied to and have other replies say that there are 0 replys, and I can't see them. And the counters for the # of replies are less than they should be.

i just made a post here about 20 mins ago, it obviously didnt show up here but it showed up in the My Replies section

anyway, i was going to say i have the same issue with replies, went to a post that had 'zero' replies, replied and when i pressed the button it appeared that the thread already had 4 posts. then when i tried to go back to that post, it showed up with zero posts, no matter how many times i refreshed...

im using IE7 and reading the forums via Impulse

Okay, now I can see it on Firefox..... but I'm still only showing 20 replies to this thread. I have no clue what happened only thing I did was restart Firefox. *shrug*

Current version of FF3 - getting 404'd when navigating directly to forums.joeuser.com/myreplies and a blank white page when navigating to forums.joeuser.com itself.

Had to open IE7 to make this post.

It seems to be working a bit better now for me at least, "My Replies" is updating better and even though the reply counter is wrong at least it shows me all of them. :) Not sure if Bara did anything or it straightened out on its own..

This may be a message in a bottle, but replies are 'disappearing' after hitting the Post Reply button (IE7).

im going to try reply in this thread again, it hasnt let me so far

im having issues with some threads, some continue to say 0 replies when i know there are more than that, the My Replies section states they are being replied to. this thread itself the last reply i can see is #25 by mommie4life

however the My Replies section says the last reply on this thread is by Mooster...

i also cannot see the main forum page for Sins of a Solar Empire

ive restarted Impulse and ive restarted my computer, no cigar...

There must be posts disappearing in Michael Moore's black hole here, I keep getting the 'new post' icon on this topic but I don't see new ones. I even clicked 'mark all topics as read' and now it shows a new post, but when I read the thread I don't see a new one.

 

And my personal page says this topic has 3 replies now <_<

Reply 6 is all blank and nothing after it shows - this DID happen before the update (hadn't gotten around to reporting it, but this seemed like a good opportunity)

Rofl, I think there is a bug with the karma... I got a new karma, and suddenly I jumped from 13 to 21, even I did get a boost of 8, when I click on my karma list it only showed 14 of the 21 I "got"
