The warptone is without a doubt the most overpriced item in demigod. Sure there are items that sell for 10,000 plus but those actually have uses. Before i go on my rant of the epic fail that is the warpstone i will show you what its description is: Use: warp to a nearby location. 0.5 second cast. 15 yard range. 45 second cooldown. now let me repeat this. 15 yard range! this is nothing. when i first saw it i thought there mustve been an typing error cause there was no way a warp with only 15 yard range is worth 5,500 gold(4950 if you have magical coin pouch). So i finally tried it out because i had to know if it actually was good... and its not. Its god awful to be completely honest. By the time my guy stops running and then casts warp i have been teleported to a spot i wouldve been able to run to in the same amount of time. This is no exaggeration. It does not help with running away or chasing dg's down at all. The only purpose i could see it having is if someone were to warp right next to an enemy and stun them, but you have to so close to teh spot that the enemy would be able to see you, and if they had a range attack, they could attack you, so its utterly pointless.

i think that it could be a great item if they just made a couple tweaks to it.

first they need to take off the casting time and have it be instant. sure .5 seconds isnt very much but it can be the difference between you surviving or your enemy getting away.

Increase the range to atleast 25-30 yard range, and i mean atleast.

and lastly decrease the cost to roughly 4,500(depending on how much better it was made)

Well, as far as escapes are concerned, there is a difference between warping somewhere and walking somewhere, even if they happen in the same amount of time.  When you walk, the enemy can follow you and continue to auto-attack.  When you warp, unless the opponent is smart enough to walk straight to where you're warping, you'll put some distance between the two of you which might be enough to escape getting manhandled all the way back to your towers.

Beyond that, however, yes.  It does strike me as a waste of money.

Back in the beta, this was one of the cheapest item and what made rook completely OP. (roll stun, teleport, hammer, dead demigod)

I guess they did over nerf it a bit.

However, if this item is cheaper, AND have no way to stop it from activating; it will be a mandatory item that must be bought or die. With it being cheaper, no one will be dying, except the people who don't have one.

the item was killing the gameplay in the beta, so the devs overkilled it. How fast you can move to attack or flee is very important in demigod, so warpstone is a really great item. I prefer to see it a bit too pricy and powerless than being the only item you have to buy.

But the devs clearly have to buff it a little, not too much that's all.

The Warpstone was deemed cheesy in the last beta installment and was nerfed to what it is today.  If you didnt have a warpstone on Crucible you lost.  So... nerfed it was.  I do agree the cost is too much now.

It may cost a bit much now, but its a rlly hard item to balance. I would rather it was uselss then what it was like in the beta imo.

I think when they next do some balances we may see a decrease in its price, which may make it more useful. they also decreased its range because it could be used to exploit some maps, it was basically a MUST HAVE item in the beta, so they over nerfed it. Personally I like the idea that warp is expensive otherwise everyone would just be warping around everywhere.

If I feel I need a warp on someone I tend to go for the elven cloak instead.  Sure it's pricey, but instant warp and the movespeed and evade are nice.  Warpstone's casting time prevents me from wanting to get it on most characters, as the only character that I feel really needs a warp is Erebus, who already gets one as an ability.  I could see some nice uses of it with TB or QoT depending on what abilities they are speccing, though, hmm.. I'll have to give it a try on TB tonight.

they could make it cost mana or add stipulations to it to prevent it from being spammed.

Amen. And it's not useless now. Just people have a hard time integrating it into their build and experimenting with it in real matches due to the 5.5k price tag.

hmm i second the increasing range but not the decreasing cost  keep at the same amount just make it  further in range  between 20 yrds and 30yrds  so erebus isn't the only demi who can teleport

but i doubt i could intergrate it into my build's  my tb is ment to  kill everything  so  teleing isn't needed most off my  melee dudes dont need it they need speed ups not  teles

sedna  couldn't really use it for me

hmm  might be able to use it with reg but with its price i doubt ill get it i would rather have hol  and ward of speed  i think they come out to the same amount as the warpstone
