Ring of Fire not casted

Fire of Fire sometimes doesnt get casted. The casting animation is done, but there is no fire. I've had this about 3-4 times in a game with Fire TB. Maybe this has to do with the "Staff of Renewal" favor item. I'm unsure. And these weren't interupted casts.

Are you sure that you didn't accidently abort it?

This is indeed a bug, if you cast ring of fire while equipped with staff of renwel (or any -% cooldown item), "both" rings of fire will end at the same time (the normal cooldown). The "no fire" issue you see is that by the time you cast the second one the first one is about to end, thus ending the new one before its cast.

happened to me without staff of renewal. cant remember if there was a cool down flag on the map. it actually happens to me a very notible amount.

What graphics card do you have?

I know for a fact that nVidia 7 series cards lack a filter

rendering paramitter which enables the visible effects of:

Ring of Fire

Bramble Shield

Regulus' Mines pulsing when thrown

Erebus Mist

Last i heard there was no way to solve this issue with those cards but I could be wrong now.

No, it is definitely not a graphical issue. I had this happen to me yesterday when I decided to use staff of renewal on my Fire TB. I spent half the game experimenting with the bug too. Ring of Fire leaves a 10 second AoE effect wherever it is cast. The cool down is usually 10 seconds, which usually makes it impossible to have even attempt to cast a second AoE while there is still one active.

BUT if you have enough cool down reducing flags/items, you can try to lay down a second Ring of Fire while the second one is still off burning somewhere on the map. I haven't done enough experimenting yet to see exactly what happens when you do that, but I know that with a staff of renewal (which gave me an 8 second cool down rather than 10 seconds) I was just BARELY able to cast a second Ring of Fire while the first one was about to burn out. By the time I was done casting it though, they both just fizzle out and no damage is done to anything in the area where I cast the second one.

I'll have to see if I can get my cool downs reduced by like 50% and see what happens then. That would let me cast the second one while the first one still has 5 more seconds to burn. I'll see if they both burn untill the first one ends, or if the second one just doesn't get casted at all.

This is a major bug.  I play TB and I stack cooldown items, so this happened to me alot until I noticed it.  This needs to be fixed asap.  It seems there is only one 10sec timer at a time reguardless of hom many ring you put down, they sll go out once the first ones time is up.

Yeah, I just did a test game on prison with just an easy AI. I got storm bringer (-20% cooldowns I believe), staff of renewal (-20% cooldowns), and the celerity flag (-15% cooldowns). So that means I shoulda had 55% cool downs. That put my Ring of Fire cooldown somewhere between 4 or 5 seconds (i dont know if the game rounds off decimals).

So, I casted a first ring of fire, then a second one 5 seconds later. Both of them wore off when the first one's ten seconds was up. They both did damage while they were active though. I repeated the test a bunch of times with the same result.

So I guess that u can keep creating as many Ring of Fires on the map as your cool down will let you, and they will all do damage while they are active, but they will all disappear as soon as the earliest one that you casted wears off.

Glad to see this confirmed.  Took me a while to realize this, there are several other visible effects I can't see.  I wasn't sure if it was a bug with my card or if it was Win7.

Is there any hope of this ever being fixed?  It a bug in the game or nvidia?
