really the only way to make the ais harder are to make more of them than you. but they are still just as predictible.
if you are finding the ai too easy you should try to play some games online. ICO is much more challanging than the ai any day and you get to have the comorodary of playing with other people.
Change the difficulty from easy to normal/hard/unfair ![]()
Other then that, top vassari is right - you have to stack the odds against you more OR come play humans!!!
I can guarantee that if you log onto ICO and come play the game in online multiplayer that you will find the opposition to be very difficult. Some other benefits are that you might enjoy having human teammates and the camraderie that comes from that as well as the possibility of making online friends and using voice comm.
Give them a 5 minute headstart.

Yes, but it's kind of artificial and ends up sacrificing many worthwhile elements of the game. It's like playing FPS against bots with 100% accurate headshot aim.
i tryed the 9 ai, i even locked them in all the same team against me, dident really change anything, just more ships sitting around not attacking, slowing my pc

If you're up for just a little modding, change the "playerAIsharedDef" in the "Gameplay.constants" file. Using the agressive template as an example:

The major change is upping the Buildship allotment. I've been attacked by at least 60+ ships at once (from a single faction) with this setting and the AI continues to reinforce as well. Something about having "Buildship" above the 10 mark seems to make them more aggressive. Upping the UpgradeResearch speeds up the variety of ships that will attack as well as their upgrades for them.

Perhaps giving them some difference engine to make them realize what ships are most threatening... If they learned to focus fire on Marza's and the like, it would be quite interesting and would make Marza strategies and some involving the Radiance less viable...

Really? I played against 2 unfair Advent AIs. And I barely survived. The replay shows their homeworlds are empty of ships. They threw everything they had against me. It seems like I'm playing 1v4, though. Unfair AIs get a resource boost.
