A vision on Demigod

A vision on the Demigods from my eyes.

I had a very unusual experience with playing this, as it seems to me that every Demigod has an overpowered ability, or just a very, very strong one. I also realized the utilization of having certain teams in a 3v3 game. For example, when I saw a Sedna and a QoT working together, they sure where hard to push away from flags, let alone to kill them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game where combining Demigods can have such great effects.

A few examples here:

Let’s take QoT. She has a very powerful shield/bubble ability called Bramble shield, which soaks up a lot of damage early game. You can shield yourself before battle, and quickly an ally in battle, then by the time they finally break shield, you cast it again. This can make a team survive for at least 30% longer. Combined with Sedna it is definitely even longer. Let’s just say that usefulness is increased by %50 per Demigod here. At first sight, this looks overpowered, but it’s not, why? There are just so many other good tactics, combo’s and skill to use. Let’s look at the next example

We have an ability called snipe… man, what a range… Nothing, but then utterly nothing can reach something from that far. Regulus get’s probably 40% his kills with this ability. Overpowered? I don’t think so, he has to fire from range and stay away from other melee Demigods or he WILL be owned. If you use this in combination with a Demigod with a good speed debuff you quickly assassinate other demigods before they notice it. Often, if you hurt someone with 2-3 mines, speed debuff and snipe… then you almost certainly have a kill, and fast! This can make a Sedna/Qot team run before they even got time to really hurt you.

One more example. Let’s take Rook and Erebus for example. They can hold places like no other. With Erebus using mist and Rook using towers you have a mighty fortress. If you manage to get someone between the towers you could use bute, Charm, then the rock throw from rook (forgot the skill name) and pound them to death.

Now I’m not saying these tactics are very good or the best. I’m showing the possibilities and the utilizations of powers that certain Demigod can use to really help the team a lot. And each of these strong combinations can be broken by other strong combination. This game is great when it comes to team play. So to all the new players on Demigod, just because you saw one amazing combo, skill or tactic doesn’t mean it’s overpowered, you just need to know other powerful combo’s to counter it. It also becomes very clear to me that this game is NOT designed for 1v1.

Anyone else who agrees that Demigod is a game like no other? And stardock really made it’s place in my memory, I’ve never seen a developer share so much information about this game. It’s really great to see someone care so much for their players.

The problem becomes when a tower rook can kill a QOT and a sedna working together while taking down 2 towers at the same time.

With that aside

Yea, its awesome what you can accomplish in this game with team play. Regulus 'maim' with UB 'diseased claws' = you are NOT escaping that one

i am not sure it is a problem, just pounce rook when he starts eating the tower. No demigod can take on 2 others of the same level and two towers at the same time.

Reminds me of something I saw last night. I saw a rook standing between his 4-5 towers when 2 unclean beasts attacked him. There was maybe a level difference between them all and the UB's were ooze and spit bases. By my suprise the Rook did kill 1 on of them, the other just merely survived with 100 hp.... to bad for him we had Regulus.

probably a dumb question, I hope the answer is simple and will let me enjoy the game.

To use rook smash power or oak (guilt? the shell icon power) do u first click the power then the target or can u just click power and then attack any and all targets.  In solo I was always too slow targeting and killing other things, even the aI rook. they would move, i would re target and then swing and boom i would be dead.

With reg i just click snipe and keep targeting stuff, it seems to work, not sure tho, could jsut be regular archer power.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Stardock is just the publisher, it's not their game. The developer is GPG.

ART, you click the power than the target. Hammer Smash targets a map location, Penitence (oak ability) targets a specific enemy.

Rook has some of the best ability to resist ganking, if the setup is good.  A large tower group or a well placed Hammer Smash can turn a fight around faster than gankers expect. The trick is to know when it's proper to stand and fight and when to run.
