new patch for demigod

After down loading the new patch this morning for demigod, the game has become unplayable to me. I cannot conect to the NAT for custom games and every time i try to get in the game chat it "closes link due to excess flood". I have to say this is the worst gameing experence i have ever ha. The patch before this one had things working ok but i guess that wasnt the plan. I see lots of people playing so im sure its something stupid like i now have to change a port of something, but as it was working fine yesterday i dont understand why you monkeyed with it again.STOP you just keep makeing it worse. Please go work at Walmart or something so maybe they will hire some one who can write code. Fuck you very much. I dont expect any response  as to how to fix the problem from this mickey mouse bullsht outfit but if you could pulll your fucking head out of your ass for 5 mins perhaps you could prove me wrong. doubt it.

Yea you see the problem is i dont have any idea how to do that. Heres an idea how about you fix the game instead of expecting me to be a computer expert and doing it for you. It was fine for about 3 days till todays patch. Todays patch is the issue. It has improved now about 90% of the time i cant connect i have otton lucky 10% today. Walmart is hireing btw.

They figure if you are having the problem then there is a chance others might be having it as well. The log files tell them what the game is doing and not doing with the servers and might be able to provide additional insight into your problem. Also providing them with the log file allows them to get this information without you needing to know much about computers. This in turn helps them figure out what exactly is broken in the patch.

The two paths he listed above (one for Windows XP and the other  for Vista) show where you can find the file named ImpulseReactor.log on your system. You can browse there via My Computer (or Computer in Vista) or probably by going to your My Documents folder then My Games, Gas Powered Games, and finally Demigod. You should see the indicated log file there.

Then just attach the file in an e-mail and send it off to support@stardock.com

I'm not sure what part is tripping you up.  Are you not familiar with directory naming in Windows?  Are you not sure how to attach a file to an e-mail?  We'd be more than happy to assist you get the game working, but can't really help much, especially if we all quit to go work at Wal-Mart.  Then the game would really never be fixed for you.

Feel free to reply here or to e-mail support@stardock.com and I'm sure we can work out some way of helping you get us that file.

I am amazed at the support staff and the patience they have with people's frustration and deliverate rantings. Demigod's an excellent game and very addicting. Right now, I'm enjoying it in singleplayer and LAN. Eventually I will be able to play online and I have confidence the staff will follow through; Here's a  on me. . Well, better make it a six pack;

I payed 39 bucks for this game. It was thier idea to make it a game that is played only online, it was thier idea try to invent a whole new match makeing system when there are plenty of proven ones out there. I have every right to complane. Let me clue you in on something. releaseing broken and unfinished games doesnt fly anymore. The internet is 20 years old, online gameing is even older. (for you kids out there we used to play trade wars and other games on BBS) ((and they worked)) You would think some one could get it right by now. Im tired of being polite, im tired of acepting broken products and then being expected help fix them my self.  You should not be asking people to send you files a month after release. I am not a beta tester.

Davehump,

I just tried to give you a refund to put you out of your misery, but alas, it looks like you bought the game at a retail store.  Walmart, perhaps?

Email sales@stardock.com to find out how to get a refund, otherwise, get off our lawn, as BlazneeX put it so well.

davehump: I'm not really sure what you want here.  If you don't want to troubleshoot why the game wont run for you then you can contact sales@stardock.com and ask for a refund.  It seems like you're more than willing to come on these forums and invest all the time to complain, when it would have only taken a fraction of that time to send out an e-mail with the log file.  Just complaining about your issues and not working to solve them isn't going to get you far on these forums.  People here are more than willing to help, if you want to be helped.
