Plea to Remove Bots From Online Play

So I played a pantheon game today and one of my opponents left the game before it started so it was 2v1, but my teammate lagged out at the very start so it was me and a bot vs some random.

The bot rambos INTO the enemy base and dies at the very start of the game. Feeds the guy 11 kills/assists by running into tower range and suiciding. It took an act of god to win the game. If the guy was even remotely good I would have lost.

I don't understand why bots are in the game for multiplayer. Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've seen in video games in quite some time.

I would rather have NO partner at all than a bot that does fuck all and feeds.

If I recall correctly, bots will be removed from clan matches in the Clan Wars Expansion

It has to be a joke if they're actually even talking about an expansion.  Fix the game you have.  Hire some 14 year old child from battle.net to teach you how a competative online game should be built.

The best solution is probably to give the remaining players extra gold (what the missing playing would have got) and possibly even give shared control of the missing persons unit to the remaining players so they could use it for strategic purposes or support.  You are pretty much screwed if you are missing a person though whether you have a bot or nothing at all.

 

If it's in the first 15 seconds they should just end the game and not record it.  Any longer then that and people would be quiting if there is an early kill.

Could be worse...I started a skirmish and somehow it ended up being 2v1. Not as in 2 humans v 1 comp and human, nooooo....I mean two DGs vs lil ole me. Yeesh....

It's funny that the most sensible solution seems to always be to do what is done on battle.net.  It's not a coincidence.  Stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

the expansion is free. From bits and pieces of what I have read, I think you will join pantheons as a clan and there will be not bots. Till then, enjoy the ez money I guess.

Seriously.  Replays, being able to arranged team with friends, being able to choose which kind of random team you want to be matched with (2v2/3v3/4v4/etc), reliable matchmaking (No 2v1s), and NO AI.


These are things you'd hope are standard.  It is......disappointing.

AI have been removed from Pantheon games for a few days now.  They still exist in Skirmish however.

They shouldn't exist in any ranked game.  It is more harmful to your team to be playing with AI than to be playing 1 player short.  Unless the intent is to punish you more when a teammate leaves the game they should be removed entirely.
