A demigod bug with health bars!

Right so this has been annoying me for a while and needs fixing.

When you have say 50% health and put your mouse cursor over the character, the small mini hp bar does not show 50% green, it shows closer to 1/4 green giving false representations about health. Its more annoying when attacking as a quick sweep of the healthbars end up showing you incorrect values which is frustrating as you think somebody is more hurt than they actually are.

An image of this can be seen here:

My character is in bottom left, as you can see from my HP bar got like 888 / 1793 or sumthing left yet my mini hp bar does not look like its half full!

Please fix!

This is a known bug and it's seriously annoying.  I now only look at health bars on creeps and keep my mouse hovered over demigod targets.

Known bug, look up my post on it a couple of weeks ago, same issue. Thanks for bringing the needed attention to it though. No point in having hovering health bars if they're COMPLETELY inaccurate.

From my understanding it is NOT a bug, but rathr intentional. I mentioned this back in the beta and a lot of the people like it the way it is.  Apparently, it is a hold over from the supreme commander engine.  Basically the properties of the visual health bar are more exponential.  The logic as explained to me is that it lets you more easily see who is at half or lower health and thus more susceptible to attack.

I agree this is not ideal/ a bug, but apparently it is actually a design decision.

Well the community feel it needs changed.

Playing with it - if you zoom in close on the healthbar it appears accurate - as you zoom out again the green bar is reduced below what it should - so I reckon this is a bug with the graphical scaling of the zoom effect - it may not be but having had a brief play - and no access to the source code => thats my guess!

I have reported this to support@stardock.com so I will let you all know the outcome!

Thanks

Andy

That's ridiculous tri.  If I see a sliver on a health bar, that should mean prime target to finish off, regardless of whether he's almost back to his tower line.  Instead it means the dg is probably around half health and he can just turn around and kill you at his tower line instead of you taking the rest out in 1-2 hits.  That may be acceptable in a large scale rts where everything is expendable, but in a game like demigod it is just bad design and looks like an overlooked bug.

I agree with you all.  Trust me,  I don't like it and I allso felt it was an artifact of poor health bar display with the zoom.  Just relaying info.  I whole heartedly support fixing this bug.

=> well hopefully it will be fixed now that I have brought it to the developers attention with evidence and a possible reason behind it i.e scaling zoom factor of the healthbars - I have submitted this properly to stardock and will let you all know the response.

My workaround is to treat someone with a sliver of health left as someone I can start trying to take down before they get away. Not before.

But it is annoying. Plx fix.

This bug is so annoying. I can't tell you how many times I died when I first got the game because I thought a demigod was within 2 hits of dying and was really at half-health.

it frustrates the hell out of snipers.
