Hard Drive CRASH Problems RE installing game PLS HELP!

Recently my hard drive that contained all the install data to Sins of a solar empire crashed. I lost all information and no longer use the hard drive. I want to re install the game but when i unistall i get a message that says "The folder path 'Solar Empire' contains an invalid character" . I assume this is because the hard drive no loger exists.. I've tried to use add remove programs but the same unistaller comes up, so same prob.. WHAT DO I DO?? can anyone help me to get this game up and running.

Thanks

Was the drive that crashed your windows drive, or a second drive?

what happens is the add/remove programs function is simply an easy way to access the uninstall that comes with the game, it can uninstall it by itself, so, if the uninstall file itself is gone, then add/remove cant remove it, but it still thinks the game is installed. you need to go into your registry and edit some files, namely the ones that make add/remove programs think Sins is still installed, but i would be VERY CAREFUL because if you delete the wrong thing you can screw up your computer, maybe find someone who knows specifically. i personally wouldnt try it on anyone but my own computer but if you are desperate drop me a pm

Contact support at starddock on this - there are some reg keys you can remove that will stop Impulse thinking that Sins is installed and allow you to reinstall it...

You may still need to handle the add/remove program issue as well.....
