Demigod won't install.

Hello all,

I purchased Demigod this morning after i read about how it has had so many problems with pirated copies, so with that in mind i got my copy, waited for the instructions to be emailed to me, followed them, waited some more for all the accounts to become active, started downloading an archived copy to save (standard practice of any digital game i buy) and waited for it to be done.

Eventually the download finished, the copy was archived and i thought i would start playing, and once again following the instructions in the email, let impulse do its thing and chose the archive that i had just downloaded (Demigod1.00.070_05.05.2009 - 1.88GB) - But nothing happens, not a sausage, i leave it for 5 mins and still nothing.

So any ideas?

I'm redownloading a copy now and have told it to install it rather than archive it, with the hope that it will do something...

Archiving creates an install file, so to speak.

To install the game from the archive file, launch impulse, then click on the orb located in the top left.  Then select the option "restore archive", or something along those lines.

I never bothered with an archive, and just an install.  An archive is handy, though, if you want to pass around the game at a LAN (but be aware, the archive is specific to the operating system, so if you archived it in Vista, it won't work on XP systems).

i also had a similar problem, i hadn't changed my install directory to the drive i would have liked (it was on C drive with like 200mb free whereas D drive had 1TB). archived, uninstalled, changed install directory to D drive, tried to use the archive but nothing happened.  So i re-downloaded the game so it would install to the right drive but it still installed to the previous drive.

archive system is broken?

Same problem here.  I've downloaded it twice now, neither time did it install.  The second time I downloaded an archive, and after pressing the orb and trying to "Restore Archive", I get an error that "The archive could not be restored".  Considering I pay for the bandwidth I use, downloading this over and over until it magically works is out of the question.  Any suggestions?

Its because the game recognizes you two are nooblets. It doesn't want you, the game's capacity for noobs is at it's max. Try again in a week, maybe stardock will upgrade the total amount of noobs played or some of the noobs wont be so nooby anymore.

Hope this helps!
