Game settings for a more enjoyable game

Personally we always use these game settings, seems to make the game a bit more enjoyable for us

- Towers on Hard

- Grunt strength on Hard

- Flag capture time on Slow

- Grunt respawn rate on Fast

Towers are very weak on normal so this make them a bit more deadly, and the slower flag capture time make it's a little less annoying and gives you some time to have some nice fights over flags.

Anyhow once you have played o these settings for a while, going back to all default settings is really unsatisfying - that must mean these settings are more fun :P

Try it and see what you think!  (Give a little time to get used to it though)

I agree. Have played the same settings other then the flag cap rate.

Its GREAT fun but my friend's lesser computer totally pooped out on us to the MASSIVE number of grunts

Too many grunts makes heroes with AoE abilities insanely OP in those settings, but yeah other then that it is actually more fun.

I think you have a completely different mentality from me(this is putting it very politely fyi).  Towers are a tad too strong on normal.  Creeps are perfect on standard settings(right down to what level of what AoE will wipe out an entire group of  them).  Flag capture times are fine.

Yeah the only issue with the faster spawn rate is performance *if* anyone has a lower end pc, otherwise it is okay.  Since grunts don't give *that* much money we haven't noticed much issues with AoE abilities being OP, particularly because grunts are on hard as well.

Doggie: A bit of it comes down to preference, but after playing on hard you will realize how weak towers on normal are.  The fact is a DG can stand in between multiple towers barely getting hurt - on hard it makes them more realistic.

Once you get past a certain level you can cap a flag near the enemy base defended by 2 towers, without destroying the towers - this is just plain wrong.  Even when you upgrade towers on normal strength they become weaker and weaker as the game progresses.

The flag capture time is a pretty big one for us though, the normal cap times are insanely quick - you could cap a flag then be fighting a demigod off near it, and he moves a bit closer to the flag for 5 seconds and you lose the flag.  If they changed the mechanics a bit it might not be as bad, but currently this can be really annoying.

I'm the opposite as well.  I want quicker shorter games.

So tower strenghth = low.

spawn rate = fast.

Games are usually shorter this way.

Vanilla Demigod works fine for me. I find it quite annoying joining a Custom Game and forgetting to check the game settings, only to play on some ridiculous settings that completely ruin the game. My fault, but it is still annoying.

I always play with High Towers and Slow Flag Capture. I don't agree with the Grunts at all though, especially setting them on High and the waves on fast. Grunts are never an actual danger to Demigods, no matter how strong you make them or how many there are. Even by the time you get giants, the DGs are so powerful they are ineffective. All numerous, stronger grunts mean is massive AoE farming, potentially throwing the game way out of whack.

If anything it seems like the grunts would counteract some of the other settings, since you'll just have twice as many groups of stronger grunts beating down the improved towers anyway.

Yeah, honestly the grunt strength is minor one for us, having them on a faster spawn just seems to make the game more interesting though since there is more going on - and if you don't kill the grunts they can build up quicker. This actually leads to games finishing quicker if you don't keep them under control so it ends up more strategic.

The thing with hard grunts is that it applies to all grunts including Giants, making them a much more strategic and valuable citadel upgrade.

But yeah, the biggest settings that are a must have for us are slow flag capture and high strength towers.

Wouldn't this make towers completely pointless?  You might as well not have them :P  To me this seems like you are completely throwing away a big strategic element of the game.

Anyway different folks will always prefer different things, at least we have the choice i guess :P
