Can't install .zip files in ObjectDock

I'm getting an error when installing the .zip files for Objectdock. (This package requires a newer version of ObjectDock to be opened!

Please visit    objectdock.com to get the latest version of ObjectDock.) Is there an update? Where and how do I get it?

You do not need to update ObjectDock. You do need to extract the contents of the zipped folder in order to use them.

If they're backgrounds, then you can extract them to either of these 2 places:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds

C:\Users\Brian Berkowitch\Documents\Stardock\ObjectDock Library\Backgrounds

If they're icons, then extract them here:

C:\Users\Brian Berkowitch\Documents\Stardock\ObjectDock Library\Bundled Images

Thanks Mirsguy,

I just read the .txt files and did the same as you suggested. And thank you angus1949 I didn't know that about the orb.

Dockzip files may require a newer version of ObjectDock.  Not sure what the lowest version was that supported it though.

I have Vista Home Premium 32bit. And ObjectDock Plus v1.9. I gave up on all this customization till lately. I thought I had changed the .zip file to .Dockzip and ObjectDock loaded it, before. I could be misstaken. For now I'll unzip the files in the proper folder. And thanks to all of you. My discouragement does not come from all of you here in these forums. Your all very helpful.

If the file is just a zip file, then all you need to do is the extraction and placement of the folder.  If it's a Dockzip file, all you need to do is double click on that and it'll handle the rest.  Or it should.  I don't like the dockzip way though.

The last three dockzips I downloaded extracted oddly. Steel Cans by Brickhead got placed in Images. Covert Ops by AVMan went into parts unknown,I never did find them. There was also one by hallv5 that put 4 0r 5 separate dockzips into the directory which I found later and had to unzip one at a time.

I used to like dockzip, thinking that it made life easier for downloadees. I have since come around. XD
