Standalone patch download?

All right, so I got my preordered copy of Demigod late last week and today finally figured out how to get it run under Wine (it was so simple I'm almost ashamed...)  However, it requires using Impulse for patching, and from earlier experience during beta I know that Impulse doesn't like Wine one bit.  So the question is, can I obtain the patch separately from somewhere?  I understand that it's sort of a copy-discouracing scheme to only let purchasers patch the game, however...  The lack of actual copy protection was a major selling point for me, since it means one less obstacle on running games on my platform of choice.  So, can I get the game patched in Wine without the use of Impulse?  Or do I have to resort to copying the installation over from Windows?

No, there's no way to get around using Impulse for patching. Even the up-to-date Anywhere archives need Impulse to install.

I wish Stardock would consider Linux, too. Unfortunately it's not in their plans. :(

Especially when the game already works and the only thing missing are patches.  Native binaries would certainly be a bonus but I can't see that happening, so I'm content with using Wine.

Oh well, I'll just copy the patched version over from my Windows gaming box then.

May I ask how you got it working?  When I run it in wine it just crashes with an error that looks like it's trying to load a movie and failing.
