Patches making game worse and worse

I'm starting to wonder what exactly did they do in beta testing. At launch I could not play this game online, but I could do lan games using hamachi. With the latest set of patches lan games are now very laggy and the game is now basically unplayable except in single player game.

The game has been out for almost 2 weeks now, and yet the main feature: multiplayer, is not available to a large portion of the people who bought the game. I'm never going to buy another stardock game again until there are enough reviews out that say that it actually works.

its all a scam, stardock ran out of money and had to close data centers etc. so they released the game too early......no honestly i dunno but ya i get disconnected from games now and i never used to

Well after the most recent patch they said they are almost fixed with the nat system. After this update every attempt I tried to connects fails with someone and then the game freezes on me and crashes. Im not sure if I want to play anymore.

The game certainly has its hang ups but I seriously doubt that the multiplayer is not available to a large portion of the people who bought the game.  I had terrible problems at the beginning but I could still get a game then even if it took 3 hours.  All my issues are pretty much resolved now.

Funny last night i played 3 multiplayer skirmishes online and 1 custome game online.

i recieved no performance issues nor ever have.

That said be patient at times things like this happens.

I was also able to connect to mp games yesterday, but today nothing works. I blame the patch, but I don't know.

Yeah, I'm getting a lot of more hanging after .105. It's really weird, as I use to be able to play fine. Hopefully, the new NAT facilitator gets up soon.

Well, taking 3 hours to get a game going all the while working around random crashes and hangups is pretty close to "not available multiplayer".  I think its probably best to agree on the following:

The current state of the multiplayer system is completely unacceptable for a game 2 weeks after launch.  The most recent patches have done nothing to help out this problem in the short term for many people.

I used to be able to get into a skirmish game (even if it was against one or two players) with the release version and play without much hassle, although it took a while.  Today I can't even get to the "player is connecting to player" list.  At this point I'm not even angry or desire to have my money refunded.  I feel something worse from a business standpoint: I just don't care.  About the game, about the brand, about the company.  Caveat emptor - they got me.

Stardock has a great ideology as a company, but you can't play an ideology.

Let me throw a number out there. We made a poll on our SupCom forum, 5 of 10 players cant play online atm. I really hope the proxy servers will fix this and soon. I know a good bunch of guys is waiting to buy the game but they want a working multiplayer. And as far as Im concerned, I can play custom games, Pantheon is down atm and in (online) skirmish I am not even able to play against the AI atm. This is getting really frustrating. Hitting the Multiplayer button is a complete waste of my time so far.

PS: The 10 players in question played SupCom and FA without problems for years. Same engine, also p2p.

I was the first one of a group of friends who purchased it. I told them the gameplay was awesome but in good faith could not recommend they buy it until the connection issues get resolved.

Viva la guinea pig!

I'm scared that by the time the connection issues get sorted out (considering we are on patch #2 and it still doesnt work) that the initial spike of players who really give a **** are going to be long gone and moved on. I hope this doesnt kill what would otherwise be a really good game.

I was able to play multi-player until this last patch. Ports were forwarded and all was well. Now I cannot connect to any mp games, the custom games menu only ever shows one game and it is passworded. Skirmishes just wait until cannot connect to Nat fac. pops up. I sincerely hope this mess is sorted out soon as I greatly enjoy this game.

One problem with pantheon and skirmish is they match using position on the ladder.  Which is working goofy, because for I started tearing it up in the panth I always got into games.

Custom Games, thats a different story, i hosted the first week and got games going (4v4s and 5v5s) in about 20 minutes or less.  Hah, now it takes 30 minutes for a 3v3, and the 4v4s i do get into,  get dropped or disconnected or have too much sim lag, and any combination of the previous.

Part of it is the players, they need to be more patient.  But as far as the patch is concerned, i definitely see a positive correlation with p2p and sparratic player drops.
