epic slowdown after patch

simple as that, the entire game..including the start up screen and the menu screen are VEEEEERY choppy , like 5 fps or something non-stop after i updated to the latest patch. both sins and entrenchment are doing it. before today they worked fine but i noticed there was a patch for both from march (i dont normally start using impulse so i didnt notice before) so i updated and it started being lame.....how can i revert without re-installing?

I have the latest Nvidia drivers but that CANT be the issue unless Stardock fails. I played 5 minutes before i patched and there was no issue at all, then I patched and played right away and the issue appeared. In other words the only change to my PC at all was the patch...and the issue appeared. So t he patch has to be what caused it.  Every other game still works perfectly fine. Only problems are in both versions of Sin.
