So i cant run this game?

Right i have a AMD 64 4.6 X2
Running XP i have 4 GB of ram tho since XP cant use that much so i have 3.2GB i use
a Nvidia 8800

And i cant run this game?  really?  when ever i start a match inn what ever resolution in what ever settings i slow down to a snail pace
I've tried all day to fix this problem but there really is no solution for this, so im asking

I am as far as i know WAY above the minimum spec or atleast over it :P  so i should atleast be able to run the game in low settings on the lowest resolution but i cant
So any help would be great

Yes i have the newest drivers for
Soundcard
Graphics card and im running a almost fresh installation (2 weeks old at this time)

PS: as far as know this is the only game with problems for me
From Crysis to L4D i have no problems at all

just take a look at the multitude of threads exactly like this one; there appears to be some issue with nVidia GPUs at the moment.

 

oh, wait a second... snails pace. so the game slows down, not just poor FPS?

well, that's a CPU problem.

 

i'd recommend you pop over to the AMD website and pick up the latest Dual Core Optimiser, and CPU drivers.

is it safe for me to assume that your fresh installation has all the updates? that does can make a large difference.

well when i said that part about the snail i was really thinking about FPS problems :P

It is really weird
and yes you are right its a fresh installation so every driver is new and up to date even my CPU
I've been reading over the other threads so far i can only say
Im happy that its not my computer and its just a game problem, hope they fix this

We've had some people saying that turning your audio settings to Stereo in the control panel will help with some performance issues.  If anyone else has tried this, please post your results whether positive or negative.
