I am about to give up on this game

Everytime I try to play a pantheon game I either end up playing against bots or, in the most recent cases, two on two.  In both cases that I actually had multiple players my other team mate dropped a couple minutes into the game.  In once case they actually messaged that they "didn't play against bots" even though there was 2 humans and 2 bots on each side.  In both cases I ended up playing 1 vs 2 and holding the other team back for an extremely long time, and even being close to wining at some points.  Why should I (and by online stats) be punished for other people's stupidity and immaturity?

I stuck with this game even though launch with multiplayer didn't function at all...now that it does...I'm done.  There is no benifit to me for sticking through a 1 & 3 stupid bots vs 2 and 2 stupid bots games...and I get no favor points out of it.

Give up the game is right up there with that last effort of Chris ala Space Siege and you will miss nothing.  Anyone want to buy mine, otherwise I feel a bowel movement coming on and this disk is a good landing space.

You say this, but something tells me that if you were playing a 2 vs 2 and one of your opponents dropped, you would beat down the lone human player without a second of remorse.

Because their is no penatly or benifit to either side in those game.  Right now you are rewarded with wins...and nothing else.  If your teammates all leave you high and dry you either have to drop like a punk or play it out for no benifit.

It's true what he's saying though - it IS still broken - better but broken. Myself I have never actually had a skirmish or pantheon with more than 2 people in it - including myself. You hear a message, "A PLAYER HAS LEFT THE MATCH" then end up with 100% bots or just one other player. Have tried over and over and over and have still to see anything more than that.

Custom games work but they're not much better. The way NAT is handled is open to so many problems. I really like the game, but the network side of things is extremely frustrating.

Hang in there.

I feel pretty confident that we'll have this pretty much nailed this upcoming week.

What we're going to do is rather than you guys having to connect to each other, we're going to set up proxy servers so that you connect to those servers and pass thorugh there.

Because of Impulse, we already have servers around the world so we can piggyback on those servers and it should introduce relatively little lag.

I thought the whole appeal to stardock games was community support and feedback/response from the developers for issues.  Being told "bye" with no response from developers for a legitimate complaint (on top of the numerous other issues with the game) is a one track way to alienate people from supporting stardock's current and future products.

It's really sad...in principle I like their business model.  I've been sorely dissappointed with Demigod, however, and have yet to see a response to people's complaints beyond the "we're working on stuff, just wait" non specifics you hear from every major developer.

^^^ Of course a real response is posted while I'm typing mine.

Thanks Frogboy.

Why did you start another thread with this?  Didn`t notice the other 100 already going?  You`re not stating anything new.  This game is seriously F%^@$# right now.  You know it, I know it and the Devs know it.  A new "Demigod is F#$!@#" thread is started every 5 mins.  Everyone know`s at this point.

Quitters quit.. what can you say.. if the problems are too much for ya, least come back and try it in a week before you give up on a great game

The fact that the forums are filled with nothing but these kinds of posts will:

A. Tip off people looking to buy this game that it is seriously F-ed up

B. Make sure that the dev team knows that unless these issue are addressed they are going to thwart any chance of this game becoming successful.

Truth to be told, I believe the best they can do is damage control; I am afraid these issues have built a reputation for the game already -and the grades given by gamespot and gamespy won't change.

But it's okay; it's not like Stardock made an habit of releasing bad games, and I will preorder Elemental no matter what. At least, they were honnest about the state of things. Stardock's PR is as good in their failures as it is during times of success.

Sadly, I haven't been having to bad of a time with the connection. The lack of ranking/achivements on the other hand...why play anything but custom matches for shits and giggles?

As I've pointed out elsewhere, no one with any sense pays attention to gamespot (and by perhaps undeserved extension gamespy) anymore anyway.  To many of the 'major' review sites will hammer a game not because it's bad, but because the producer doesn't advertise with them -- and the reverse, they'll let a game slide for the dough that comes from advertisement.

Thanks Frogboy do you have any idea when next week - towards the end or early in the week?

I never really played much DOTA on WC3 (only abit) but I'm absolutely loving the game. Problem is I, like the OP, always end up with 2v2's which often result in 1 or more people leaving the match turning it into a bot match.
