All stardock games crashing my Video card

Display adapter has stopped working...attempting to restart...

Lately I seem to be having a problem with Stardock games. In every game thus far, I can play for anywhere between 15min and 5 hours before the screen goes black and then flickers on and off as it tries to reset the display drivers.

I can do one of two things. ctrl+alt+del and force quit the program where minor things like internet and the like are useable but if I try starting the game again, it instantly goes to the black on/off problem. The second option is to restart the system. Restarting will allow me to re-open my game and play until an undetermined amount of time.

Games affected as of now, Galactic civilizations II: dread lords and twilight of the arnor, Sins of a solar empire, and Demigod. Demigod seems to crash the fastest of them all as I havent been able to play for more than 20min at a time. This doesn't happen with any other game, even graphically intensive ones such as Supreme commander: FA. '

There are known issues with your card on Vista..........not just Stardock games, most games.

Yup Lantec is right. The card sux! I have the same one with crash problems as well. Replace the card and the problems will go away. I can't afford a new card right now so I can't install any software at all. I can browse the web and thats it. No anti virus, no office products,  nothing beyond the OS and necesseties installed and my vid card crashed the other day. >:(

I have spent alot of time trying to find a fix since I got Vista with only bad news being the result everytime. Java related? maybe, Directx 10 maybe? DWM? maybe....They all seam to point the finger in the other direction as usual.

I have done it all...reinstalled Vista 11 times. Driver cleaners, etc don't fix anything. I am seriously considering a class action suit against MS or Nvidia. Hell I'm suing both! I have lost 6 months of valuable skinning time because of it.

The real suxxor is I can't find my XP disc to upgrade so I can do some skinning. <X3

NT....a good replacement ATi HD4850

The one I got LINK in Sept. NO complaints/issues/problems since the driver issue (fan speed) was fixed back in Decemeber

Probably a better deal today LINK

I'm not an ATI vs Nvidia person.....I've got a Quadro FX 4500 in my work system. The card is just the best bang for the buck period.

that's ridiculous. Is it just the 8800gtx? Does nvidia know and if so, could I ask them for a new card, maybe the 9800gtx? And again, I don't have this problem with any other games. Just stardock ones.

Must be just the GTX. I have an 8800GT and it works perfectly in XP and Vista.
