Should my laptop be able to run Demigod smoothly?

If the answer is Yes, then why is this game running so sluggish? I have all graphics set to "low". It's frustrating enough that I can't play it becaues it gives me a headache. Any suggestions?

I've got the same setup on my laptop (8400M GS), and it is just barely playable on the lowest rez (1024x768) and lowest settings. Seems to be faster when zoomed in. I wish there was either a way to crank down the detail just a bit more, or maybe go to 800x600. Anyone from SD have answers? Maybe an undocumented low detail or 800x600 mode?

yeah, it's that GPU that's really holding you back.

and 8400M GS is going to be too weak to handle Demigod in all it's glory.

I don't need Demigod in all its glory -- I have a desktop with a Core i7, 6 GB RAM, and a Geforce 260 that runs Demigod at 2560x1600 with all settings high and 16x AA for that. But every now and again I'm on the go and I want to play on my laptop. The game is just as fun without all the graphical niceties. Hell, it could be flat colors with no textures if that made it run smooth.

An 8400M GS is definitely within the system requirements -- all that's necessary is either a extra low detail mode or an 800x600 mode that would get the framerate up instead of lagging like hell once creeps start appearing.
