You promised 2 but gives us more

I am not dissapointed how the game turned out and have no problem with the 8 Demigods in total. In knew from the beginning that the game was going to have 8 Demigods. I know the developers said that two more are on the way but given that many are still are still disapointed and some bitch about only having 8 Demigods, I think it's best to give the community more then two. I know it takes a lot of work but try releasing more then 2 Demigods if possible. They do not have to be perfectly balance, you can balance them much faster by releasing them and with the complains report from the community on the forums than trying to figure it out.

Seconded.

New demigods will be EXTREMELY good reasons to keep playing this game / come back to this game.

Don't agree that they should just be punted into the game though. Would ruin the tournaments, which actually matter as they decide who the best players are.

Yeha I agree more DG's will be good...but even sooner I hope they can release a few more maps. That should be easier. Heck I dont care even if they release say different size versions of similar style maps. Just a few more maps for more variety. In particular a couple more 2vs2 maps.

More DGs would be great, but HOLY CRAP, the game has only realisticly been out for 2 days.  Give them a break and let them polish out some of the bugs/connectivity issues first.

im more dissapointed with lack of back story and missing some user controls then lack of Demigods, but then again more the merrier

LOL @ OP They are trying to make the game work correctly over the net and pull in more people. Filling a leaking sack with more crap won't make the public happier. Give them time to work out what they got now. More DG = More balancing problems which in turn will slow the production of patches. Both in terms of problem resolving and content release.

2 days later GIMMIE GIMMIE XD

I think 10 or 12 would be the maximum I would want to see.

Its quite clear that, the more demigods there are, the harder it is to keep the game balanced.

Ye i know that but the game will never be 100% balanced. The only good way to know what needs balancing is through the community. What I am trying to say is something like this. They work on 2 Demigods, try to balance it as much as they can before the release and then work on two more almost balanced Demigod will take more time then releasing 4 Demigods half imbalance and half balanced.

It takes to much time to wonder all the details and compare to other Demigods spells to see how you can have it perfectly balance. While if you release 4 Demigods they might not be all perfectly balance but that is what the community is for, you easily get 10 of the same threads in 1day stating that Apollo is imba because this this and this. That way you'll easily know what has to be fixed then wonder for weeks what is not right and what should be done and release them after all that thinking. That is what patches are for. The ones that will be playing this game for the coming the years and experience bugs and imbalance issue is the community.

I know Stardock is having a hard time with the connectivity issue. When that is solved where do we go from there? The two promised Demigod, think this more as a heads up then a demand.

2 more is fine. 10-12 demigods would be enough.  They simply need 50% more unique skills.

"The only good way to know what needs balancing is through the community."

^ Lol they beta'd it forever. The community can make suggestions but it will always float back and forth. I thought straight out of the box was pretty good, and after the patch the tide shifted b/c majority felt one side was weaker. I'm not saying whose wrong or right. But it is hard to balance general's especially due to the minions. They all are unique so each general may be different then his neighbor general. So to me that would make it difficult to balance minions without specifically nerfing one general.

I agree with the folks saying 10-12 different Demigods is about the most I'd want to see. Personally, I think one of the weaknesses of DotA is that there is just too much "stuff" and not enough of it makes any real difference.
