This is a new error I've been getting today. I have the most recent Catalyst drivers (9.4) And a fresh install of Vista. I have the digital download version of the game. I've uninstalled, driver cleaned, and reinstalled my video drivers and get the same error.

I'm currently re-downloading the game, after uninstalling.

Having the same problem with the 8800 GTX. There are a lot of people having it but the solutions are kind of ambiguous right now. A few people seem to have solved it but I can't really seem to figure out how...the answers are very unclear.

I'm about to reformat again... This is such a hassle.

I've re-RE-downloaded it and still get the error, used 3 different drivers to no avail, and back at the newest set and STILL no go.\

Any help would be just amazing

track down the file game.prefs and make it migrate to the Recycle Bin (this is an old trick from SupCom that appears to work here too).

you'll find it tucked away in your Windows account somewhere in a hidden folder, so it's probably best to use the search function.

if it doesn't work, it's safe to move the file back.

i think i might be writing yet another [Solution:] thread soon.

I have no game.prefs file. I searched with search hidden files and folders turned on...it is nowhere to be found.

I have tried fixing the drivers by first uninstalling them, restarting, running a driver cleaner and deleting all of my temp files, restarting, reinstalling the drivers, restarting and then launching the game. I still get this same message "Unable to create Direct3D"

I am running on an 8800 GTX with 2gigs of ram and so forth, I don't think the quality of my machine is the issue. I have tried all of the solutions I have found on this forum with no success, so if anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate it.

Same Problem here, running on XP SP3 with a 800GT (Driver 182.08) with 4GB RAM, Beta ran fine the last time I tried was sometime in Beta 3, last time I played it was in late February or early March.

Tried the game.prefs trick, but after unsinstalling and reinstalling the game already there's none to be found, except the one from SupCom .

DXDiag found no problems, if you need further infos just let me know.

I just got this problem today with the 9600 GT, and i deleted the game.prefs file and now the game runs. To find the file guys just go to Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod folder and that is where the game.prefs file is! Hope that helps

Did the game startup for you previously? Because I don't have that file. It does not exist on my machine. I am thinking the game has to startup at least once to create it.
