Internet/Server Problems

I have a big Problem i played only 2 Games online since the Release, because I need about half hour or so to go in a match. Could the reason be that i am from Germany and the Server is in The US West? I also have a very very bad internet not that bad as a modem or ISN but the worst DSL about 348 kbit/s?
