It seems that when you use a favor item that you "bought" earlier still subtracts its cost from your current favor points. So you can even go into the negative quite easily.
yeha, just happened to me, this is fucked up, i have -155 favor, now if i want to keep playing im gonna have to let it go lower and lower, anyone know if they will fix this? if not buyting items with favor is gonna just dig u a whole untill its patch.the thing is im told most of this was a problem in the beta so why hasnt it been fixed?
My favor started in the negative, yes I bought an item before release day...
But my favor is not increasing at all with 10 or some wins now and 1 loss...
Bought one item playing Pantheon before release I think on Saturday, but when I logged on Tuesday my favor was at -650 and hasn't moved since, even after a win.

The thing is I haven't bought anything. I got 220 favor in my first game, and haven't lost any games until now. (I dropped to 175 favor before losing this last game)
According to http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/player/20791 I have earned 490 favor, spent 0 and have 135. According to the search - http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/search/player/comanoodle - I've only earned 355 favor.

It seems to be related to the Pantheon game mode as far as I can tell. The temporary workaround would be to play Skirmish instead of Pantheon. The long term solution would be for Stardock to fix it. Due to the fact it seems like their web stats keeps track of favor, they might be able to restore all lost favor, but we'll see.
Edit: Actually, this is bugged even if you never play pantheon. It deleted my cooldown staff for 1150 or so from last night.
