Registration/Serial # problem

On a whim i bought DG today with a friend and came home to install. His install went through without a problem. Mine on the other hand has been nightmare.

After i install and get impulse going, i log into impulse to register the game and get the 204 error about an invalid serial number. Puzzling. Am I missing a page where i go to register the game prior to registering it in Impulse? I've checked my serial, made sure im using dashes etc. I'm not full retard but i cant find anywhere else that I'm supposed to register my serial number other than within impulse. If thats the only place i can register then im probably SOL.

Any help would be great. thanks.

Make sure you're not entering any letters O/I/L. The serials only contain numbers and letters a-f (some people have noted that lowercase works but caps do not, we'll have to look into that).

already tried it with lowercase/all caps. Not using any O's/I's/L's.

we tried registering my friends key on my impulse after he installed and it worked fine. just mine doesnt seem to. just tried it a few more times with my info and no dice.

Possibly just have a dead key?

If you're entering it correctly and it still won't take, contact support@stardock.com.

Yes, send your e-mail in from the Stardock.net account e-mail you used when you created your account. also include the serial number your attempting to use.

Well at least someone else is having the same issue I am. Do you know how long it takes for them to reply from support I just sent one and was curious how long I would have to wait.

Same problem here (retail version purchased from Amazon).  Just sent email to support (from my registered email address).  Hoping to hear back soon!  As an added twist, when entering the serial number into Impulse, it automatically populates the genre/game info - so something is working.  But I still get the "ref: 204" invalidity error.
