How do you change sides in the pantheon?

The first thing I did when I brought this game was try to join a multiplayer game. I picked pantheon, but it said only 30 people were playing and it couldn't find a match. That was OK, but now whenever I go back to pantheon, it doesn't let me change from light to dark (I like the vampire most now). What obvious button am I missing

You can't change side until the next pantheon.
