I'm jealous of those of you that have it and I'd like to extend the Kudos to Stardock for providing tech support to those who got the game early despite the damage that early release is doing.

I'm tempted to go out and buy it now...

But EH. If I get my code on Monday I guess that's okay. I can do other things until then...

I don't guess there's any chance of SD just letting us pre-orderers getting the game today?  I'm a little irritated that we basically havee to wait 3 days after everyone can get it from their local Gamestop.

I know the multiplayer servers aren't working perfectly, but just tide us over!

Stardock has to activate all of our codes, and to do that, they'd need to send someone in over the weekend.

hey all. first post on the forums, but i hate that its due to gamestop sucker-punching SD. makes no sense to me for them, but i guess whoever is to blame, its done so gotta make the best of it. definitly sticking to my pre-order with SD though, they are way more deserving of my hard earned denero .

and for whoever decided to cancel and buy early, our ninjas our already in route...  

Any update from Gamestop?  Seems to be pretty overwhelming evidence that for whatever reason they've been selling them early, not just a fantasy...

I just got it from Gamestop. I didn't know they had released it early or I would have waited too. I haven't gotten to play it much until today and so far it looks incredible. Loving it.  

In the future I'll pre order from Stardock though to support this kind of great game making.

This is because the game is not street dated.  Stardock scrwed up... not Gamestop or Base Exchange.

you know i have my gamestop copy sitting here, but i think i'm going to just wait the next two days and use my preorder and dl it and return this to gamestop.

as much as i'd like to start playing, gamestop and the used game selling really kills the developers, and i'd like more games to come out. 

so dont cancel the preorder and F gamestop.

Isn't Gamestop just doing the typical greedy capitalist thing? Has this recession really put a sour taste on the "Greed is good" mantra?  

Greed is good is only half of the capitalist mantra...the other half is honoring contracts (which Gamestop is conviniently ignoring here IMHO).

Wouldn't a simple solution to be push the Direct Download release up to now?  I have a download preorder in but am mad tempted to go buy the boxed copy.  I'm not going to because I support fellow game designers and not greedy ass corporations, but it seems like by not responding with a early release you're punishing the people loyal enough to wait it out and rewarding those who buy early from GameStop.

They're off for Easter weekend, they already said they would otherwise. By the way, if you know anything about the production process for games you'd know this is probably the first weekend they had in weeks. Already they pushed release for everyone up to Monday, that's good enough for me.

The packaging boxes that Demigod comes in has a big red sticker that says not to put it on sale until the 14th.  In addition, Gamestop had asked prior if they could release the game earlier than street date and when we told them not they lowered their order in response.  

I know a lot about the game development process, I know that the end if very stressful, don't challenge my knowledge on this stuff.  I also know that what GS is doing is not only horrible but also not out of character for them, this kind of stuff happens all the time with them.  Additionally I know that it wouldn't be overly complex to push it out today and that it wouldn't be too hard to call up a few people and get a team of volunteers to make it happen.  GS is doing something horrid to their baby and something needs be done about it.

Just checked stardock sells for $40 too... Feel like $5 was just stolen from me. The +box version costs $50 on SD, $40 in gamestop, and $50 in gamestop buys you the collector's edition...

This some real evil shit going on! I am betting that the government is behind this. SD servers were hacked on the day that I pre-ordered since they were sure I was going to purchase. Then the prices were inflated just for the second that I clicked to process payments, after which all was reverted. All of this just to steal astonerbum's $5! they're after me i tells you!
