Entrenchment [bug?]-Pirates take over for surrendered AI

Played a huge random 1 star map FFA against 5 Unfair AI's.  No Pirates activated. After a couple hours one of my flanking AI surrenders (locked teams/no allies) leaving his 5 built up worlds for me to siege and plunder. As I start to mop up his worlds  Pirates warp in from some unseen star (remember it's a one star world) and try to take me on, sending small fleets against my huge ones. You can see the fleets coming from off the screen..wierd. AND the Pirate sortie screen started up asking for bounty!!

I saved and reloaded and checked my settings, nothing had changed. Pirates not activated/No allies/locked teams, and one AI had a broken screen. I kept playing but small Pirates fleets started warping into dead end planets from out of nowhere...annoying really. Ended up quitting a 5 hour game. I surrendered so I could check the other AI worlds but the only pirates in the galaxy were the newly arrived ones on the surrendered AI worlds I was cleaning up. wtf?

Anyone else have this happen? Has this been discussed before? I read most of the "AI surrendering" posts but didn't read about this problem.

[yes, I have the latest Entrenchment SOASE]

Thats really strange. TEC have a max tier technology that causes rebel (pirate essentially) forces to attack enemy planets under influence of your culture. These forces warp in "from nowhere" and they are hostile to everyone. But that doesn't quite explain things because those rebels are on a specific non-pirate team, they don't travel between planets and they certainly don't activate the bounty screen.

Maybe it's a bug related to that tech. Did you have a TEC-AI enemy?

Hmmmm...I am not sure what that means. Do you mean that they will warp in after the last tech has been researched? That IS what is happening, I wasn't aware that would happen in Entrenchment. However ,as you mentioned in your reply that doesn't explain why the pirates would start being active and asking for bounty or telling me it's been exhausted...wierdness...Thank you for giving me some assistance.

No, I was TEC/Marza Monster they were the soon to be assimilated Vasari or Advent.

I wish I knew more about recording replays (or re-playing them for that matter lol! I put them in my file folder, I tried Record-sp or Record-mp  and it says incompatible file...oh well).

Again thank you both for trying to gain an answer.
