Why should I get Entrench?

Sins has been awsome ever since they fixed the stability issues that I was having. But why should I get entrench? I'm afraid it will be ustable like Sins was for me just like 3 months ago. So is it ustable? Are the new units and starbases THAT great? Can I still play with vannila players without downgrading my game? Do people play entrench a lot?

Sorry for all the questions:pout:   but most of the disscusions are on specific things about entrench like the starbases. I think its like 15 bucks I just don't wanna w8st my moneyt thats all.

It's $10, and it builds off of Sins so it should be just as stable. You can play with vanilla people, after you install Entrenchment you can launch either the expansion or vanilla and play what you want.

I think it depends on your play style. I like to turtle and entrenchment is a defensive expansion so I am having a blast with it. If you are more aggressive it will still be a big improvement but you may just want to wait untill another expansion comes out.  I have noticed that the enemy retreats a lot less in entrenchment (but that may have changed in the original (vanilla?) at the same time.

I personally think that Entrenchment is great. 10$ is IMHO actually ridiculous for such an expansion. For me, it gave Sins exactly what I have been missing in the Vanilla version. As Annatar pointed out, entrenchment does not hinder you playing with people who don't have it. Concerning stability: No probs on my side so far!

No they don't retreat a lot less in vinalla now, I come in with a fleet of ship, the enemy AI on normal was twice my size and they still retreat upon entering the system.

One of the major reason i got Entrenchment so I could get starbases, and for a Trekker, the original star trek mod is not longer develop so, I got entrenchment to hopefully continue to play it

Thanks guys it sounds like this is worth the only 10 bucks it takes to get. Are there anymore new ships though? I heard of starbases and defences but what about new Cap ships and Frigetes.

Vasari get a new cruiser that deploys their mines, TEC gets a torpedo cruiser that does pretty crazy damage against buildings (can't attack anything else), and the Advent gets a cruiser that does less damage against a building than the torpedo cruiser, but it can attack 5 of 'em at the same time.
